Myth to a point. Its a blanket term used by less attractive people to categorize attractive folks, most often.
I have met attractive women who were 100% secure in themselves in most aspects, just as I have metinsecure unattractive chicks. Just assume that most people who say stuff like this is is explaining away something exceptional with a flaw that everybody has to a degree.
To be fair though, im positive I have talked myself out of a lot of situations because I assume a chick is just so bomb that she has a man already. I never though "im not good enough", we just assume that an attractive person probably has all they need already.

The one model type I dated was on some "now or never" shyt and I had her rolling with my witticisms. We were ultimately two very different people, but it taught me a lesson about shooting that shot. Besides, losing a near-dime is better than never having copped one. Cant hurt to spit your strongest game for one
