this is true...if you look at it that way, there are a ton of "black" players, look at starling marte:
he'd probably fight you if you call him BLACK, but that's for another discussion
...I mean african american players...plus there is michael taylor out in Washington and Kris davis in Oakland

When they say that black participation in MLB is down, they're talking about African Americans.
They aren't talking about David Ortiz.
As a fact, African Americans are not playing baseball.

Maybe it will shift in the future, but honestly...I wish people stopped making th divide so large man. Pedro Martinez is the god. Best to ever do it in my opinion. He happens to be Dominican, but I've heard him say so many times how proud he is to be a black man and proud of his nappy hair. As a Black and Dominican baseball fan, he's a win win for me.
But if I answer the question correctly, I don't know. Blacks dominate basketball and football. baseball is turning into a past time for a lot of people. I find it to be one of the most exciting sports but maybe that's because I played it most of my life. Idk.
