Are Black Men Losing Hope?

I think we as a collective are losing hope. The average Black man has few positive images to affirm himself too. The media shows him either as an untamable demon, a menace or a dikkless pupprt powerless to stop even the most basic of assaults. We are the last to get jobs, the first to get fired. There are new age movements like that target Black men in general, and there is an assault on Black masculinity. Music is no longer about substance, but it's about fulfilling a fantasy of a never ending party that few could ever achieve. Few Black men have fathers to come to for guidance. When a man says that he feels depressed or something less than positive, he is asked to 'suck it up' 'man up' 'stop being a puzzy' it is swept under the rug. There is a stigma on getting counseling in the Black community and really a stigma on mental issues in general. I hope dude can get some help but let's not act like he is alone in feeling this way, we just express it in different ways.

Yep. There are millions of Black men like the dude in the video out here. A lot of them overcompensate to hide the pain they have deep down inside.

real nikkas don't even really think in terms of depression and shyt. nikkas who shoot nikkas shoot nikkas cuz they had to shoot a nikka. It wasn't an emotional event. They're not gonna go home and shed tears and cry about they're hard life in the hood. They're gonna move forward.

Depression is a disease that only effects the weak minded. You have the willpower to walk up and shoot a nikka then you're not worrying about being depressed.


Most depressed dudes really are the stever urkel type. Cuz depression stems from being timid and complacent. You sit still in life for long enough you're gonna get depressed. Its your bodies way of telling you to do something. Impossible to be depressed when you're always moving forward and accomplishing your goals. And just being around people naturally increases optimism.


I don't think black men are losing hope. There is hopeless people in every generation. They just get forgotten cuz they're nobodies.

nikka, what are you talking about? The Rock, for example, is not the average man. Yet he admitted to being depressed.

Black men are fighting 3 front war with no allies and few resources. We're even at war with our own women, they abandoned the race war to join the feminism movement. Even though we've never oppressed women, never had the power to. Our image is ruined, last ones to get hired. Most of our women want uber thugs or a well baller type. For the average hardworking Black man, life sucks.

Black men not leading our women and communities is deeper than most of you think.

As men we're suppose to build a family and create a situation for our offspring to survive and better. We can't create a family without our women. They've turned our women into men. We're like mane-less Lions with no pride (family of Lions) to protect and provide for, no one that respects and admire our courage and heart. We're just roaming around the jungle with no real purpose, seeking out temporary happiness thru frivolous sex and drugs. This severe emptiness most of us have in our lives leads to depression and frustration which often leads to detrimental behavior which leads to our imprisonment or death.



Our situation was designed and is going as planned.

The average Black man has it hard, breh. Most of our women sold us out a long time ago.

Average cac's life is a cakewalk compared to that of the average Black man.

Our women don't understand we are one. We win and lose together. They think that as long as the man is providing them with jobs and welfare they're winning. They just deciding to take out the biggest threat first. Once Black men are totally conquered, Black Women submit without fight.

I believe if things really went as CACs of the past planned it

Black Men
1. Would be doing the hard labor they don't want to do ( Mexicans have cancelled this option)
2. In Prison
3. Death

Black women
1.Would be doing the White women's housework, raising the kids (Mexicans have cancelled this option)
2. The White Man's new favorite past time. Sex slaves.

Im really just ranting/going on a tangent, but if you're a regular brotha who is average or below-avg looking, with a regular ole job you aint getting no play, no action and no love in 2014 except from your mom and Grandma. Hate to be the bear of bad news

I know a lot of nikkas like to say some generic "yall nikkas need to change your location" "aw, yall just some hoe ass.." blah blah blah, but its real, and this can cause a ton of depression if you don't have anybody to ride along with you. Ladies have their families, their girlfriends, their gay male friends, their simps, etc etc. Staight black men have NOBODY

And these bytches really don't even need men like that. All they need is some side dikk and thats it.

Emotional support??? you'll just get friendzoned. Believe me, Its happened to me a lot in the past


It sucks that the Black Family Unit has been dismantled now. Black people need to be more family oriented man.

All this excessive consumerism and shallowness is disgusting

The solution, all i can say is focus on yourself. Then you'll be too busy to be depressed. Find out how to get rich and ball outta control, but keep God(or whatever higher power you believe in) first.

I wouldn't say everyone is losing hope based on sentiments expressed by one guy, but I'm sure there are many more Black men, and women, who feel the same way he does. Like others have said, in the Black community, it's frowned upon to admit that you may be suffering from a mental illness. Leaving out the role of the system out for a moment, another big problem is that we as Black people, generally, have poor support systems. Fall on hard times and need cash? Tough luck. Whereas, say a White person, can ask parents or other relatives. The same applies to emotional support: it's either don't admit you have mental illness or if you do, you get told to "get over it," more or less.

And black men with no job, no car, basic clothes gotta compete with whatever the status quo is, but if you don't have the resources or the money,

That's how the game we supposed to fuel the prison system, supposed to sell drugs, get locked up and make cacs a tons of profits. A man without money can't go far at all. A average black guy is probably alone with no one, p*ssy has skyrocketed, sisters think like cac women... It's hard out there. The white man covered all bases.

I don't respect no sister who can't see what we deal with, don't fukk with none of them.

Everyday for any nikka without a advanced degree is probably a struggle, without our own community everything is coming to the white man with open arms. What's a nikka to do? God forbid you uneducated and darkskin,
