Yeah. Grandpa on my mom side from Jamaica though. Other than that All American black as far back as I know. Started in East Texas now in South Texas and Forth Worth for the most part.

Yep, both parents are black Jamaicans like their parents were and those before them.

I remember we chopped on this befire...

My grandma and her sisters migrated to Sacramento from Arkansas, but they were/are partially Creole. Their dad was Creole and from Louisiana, and when I ran these ancestry tests the last few years I had way more Creole identification and ancestry than I even knew...

There's a decent amount in North Carolina, and probably half of them came via New York, too. I knew a guy who was originally from Queens who was Panamanian in Fayetteville; my children's mother's aunt (so my daughters' great aunt), she grew up in Fayetteville and lives in Raleigh, but her family from New York too; knew another girl in Fayetteville who was Panamanian but born here; and knew a old head from Charlotte who didn't come to America until he was like 30, and came through Louisiana, then later lived in Texas and Orlando, then settled in Charlotte...

To be an American of African descent generally means you are significantly mixed. I'm 26.2% white ancestry but I have two black parents. Having that much white was surprising, but having significant whiteness wasn't. Everybody kinda knows, or should know after a certain age, that there is virtually no such thing as pure black if you are from the West...

To be an American of African descent generally means you are significantly mixed. I'm 26.2% white ancestry but I have two black parents. Having that much white was surprising, but having significant whiteness wasn't. Everybody kinda knows, or should know after a certain age, that there is virtually no such thing as pure black if you are from the West...

Yea lots of islanders you see across the east coast probably started in nyc.

Matter of fact almost all the Haitians in Philly lived in NYC first.

I knew two churches where the entire congregation moved to Philly.

Yep this is so common with black americans. My great grandfather on my moms side was creole from Louisiana. My grandmother on my dads side is part creole from her dad side of the family.

Plus my wife's grandfather from her mom's side is part creole. This shyt is very common with southern black folks.

Then you have many black folks who are of creole descent in Louisiana actually have Haitian ancestry. Haitians lived there for a long time due to the french owning Louisiana.

Also not all creole black folks are light skin. Many are brown and dark skin as well.

Yeah my grandma is dark. She did say her dad was bright, though...
