Honestly I think these gen z rappers are just lazy as fukk and lack creativity, love for the genre and ONLY see Rap as a meal ticket to fame and fortune and nothing more. The past generation of rappers at least had passion and love for their craft, something which is sorely missing with these new gen artists.

There's no actual difference in intelligence. In fact, there's a number of cases in which "ignorant" sounding rappers have done well in school and conscious rappers have dropped out of school.

Rappers back in the day started out as musicians. They could play instruments and follow a beat or a tempo. Now you can upload a track that’s already produced and call yourself a rapper.

I don't think rappers are less smart, I think everyone as a whole is less smart - in the U.S. anyway.
