I still don't know who told all these immigrant groups that FBAs would save them? Especially when they never did jack squat for us. Somebody in the DNC definitely lied to them.
We have a history of doing it, being the loudest ones out there, fighting for everyone's benefit. No one had to tell them this; they saw it for themselves. Now, in this election, they have shown us how they really feel about us by voting for a man who outright stated what harm he would do. Many of our people are telling them they are on their own now. That bothers them, because they feel entitled to us being their martyrs and mules.
They only ever cared about what they could get out of our people, while also pointing at us and telling each other we deserve the treatment we continuously receive from the system. Now that they’re feeling a bit of the heat we’ve endured, they want to act like we’re in this together. If we jumped up, defended them, and helped pull them out of this quagmire, they would easily revert to their usual attitudes toward us once the crisis was averted.
So I personally feel they should keep that same energy they had when we were the main ones suffering under the system. Our people are now reflecting that energy back at them, now that we see there’s no real camaraderie to be had collectively with groups who see us as nothing more than useful tools and lesser than them. Maybe, with time, they’ll change their attitude. Though personally, I won’t hold my breath.
