Ftr, Northerners (not just the east, mid west and west too) outside major cities have a difficult time understand plain racism bc, when they see it, it's not so plainly racist. Like, their neighbor hates them bc they play loud music. Or the teacher is mean to them bc that's just how she is. Whereas, once we get herded into cities, wp become very plain and obvious. You live and go to school here, they live and go to school there. 'There' is obviously much better. Etc.

That is what’s telling about too many of them (not all). They never have this concern until they fear it might affect them too. Then, and only then, they run out and claim Black Americans need to be out there fighting this. Other times, when it only affects our ethnicity, they tell each other that Black Americans are always complaining or that we bring it on ourselves.

Too many of them thought they understood the system better than us, not realizing the system was simply treating them better than us. That’s why their claims that we Black Americans were next fell on deaf ears, because we intrinsically knew we were always first. So what’s happening now is no shock to a people who’ve been dealing with this continuously for over 400 years.

Simply put, they want us to be shocked about what is just another Tuesday for us.
