It's strange how once considered a prestige exotic subtropical paradise is ruined with pollution and over-population.

There is also very high scale places too. Luxurious palaces and hotels the whole you dig.
Some Indians (and Arabs/Persians) have long money that stretches further than a sultan's chamber.
Just depends where in the subcontinent you go.
Don't go into poor places if you don't have the know how's to navigate around.
