Hard to stop Curry because he can shoot and put the ball on the floor. The warriors also have great spacing and play small ball so you have 4 other shooters on the floor at all times

Add to the fact moving screens are allowed and you can't touch wing players creates a deadly mix.

The key is to play him tight and chase him off the line. Then go at him on the offensive end and make his ass run through countless picks to wear him out.

The cavs in the finals ran him through a pick and roll every time on the offensive end. But they were short of folks in the end. All of this won't stop him but it will slow him down a little and will add up over a 7 game series.

That is why I want to see how they play the Spurs in the playoffs. Because he either is gonna guard Parker or green. He guards green they gonna run his ass through picks. He guards lenoard they are gonna post his ass up.
How did you go from him guarding just Parker and Green to then saying "he guards Leonard they are gonna post his ass up", when you never stipulated that he was ever going to guard Leonard?

He's not going to guard Leonard or Green - he'll be guarding Parker most of the time. Where he won't be having to run through countless picks and where he won't be needing to defend in the post.

Clippers were doing an amazing job on him all night, then in the 4th, when he would come around those on-ball screens to pull up, DeAndre wouldn't close out hard on him...he would treat him like he's some regular shooter and not Steph Curry. :dwillhuh:

You want the blueprints on how to clamp that nikka you saw it in the first 3 quarters last night and in the most recent Finals. You give him no air space and pretty much put him on an island and everyone else plays 4 on 4. If he comes around an on-ball screen you hedge hard and don't let him pull up. And even when LAC had the formula down they completely went away from it after. SMH this is why these phaggots CP and Blake are never winning shyt.:mjlol:
You clearly didn't watch the game by the way.
Steph sat out for the first quarter and for half of the second

He had foul trouble in the first and didn't play but that doesn't change the fact that he was 4-12 shooting going into the 4th. Go peep the Game Thread and look at people giving Austin Rivers his props for playing great D. To say I didn't watch the game is stupid, he was shooting like ass when he was in.

Watch 2:08 of this video for a very clear understanding of what I'm talking about with DeAndre. Tell me all you want about how, "you can't ask a center to go cover a three" but that shyt is pathetic. This matchup was abused all game because dumbass Jordan absolutely refused to move.

It's pretty simple dudes would rather have Steph shoot a three over them than him breakin they ankles. They'd rather worry about the foot work than him pulling up granted they still need to contest but if you pay attention when he pulls up the shot is always contested late.

I think you need to watch that clip again.

DeAndre couldn't leave Draymond (that was his man), because Paul had already went around the pick to try and pick up Curry - that's why he didn't hedge harder. It's certainly not dumb on his part, I mean you can't expect him to guard 5ft behind the 3pt-line everytime Curry feels like pulling up for a shot from that distance. Now that would would be dumb, because it'd leave the Clippers with nobody protecting the rim and more space for the Warriors to create points with a 4v3 advantage.

Dude it is simple what I said. He can guard either one of them on the defensive end and will have to work period. So he won't be able to rest.

Anyone who saw the Spurs play the heat two years ago understands what I mean. The heat were trying to hide a hobbled Wade and the Spurs went at him because all their wing players can score in bunches.

There will be no Tony Allen to sag off and not guard.

If you follow the NBA this is a strategy that is as old as the league when facing great scorers. You want them to work on the defensive end of the court.

Also even if he is on Parker he will still have to face pick and rolls with him. Parker even at his old age is one of the best penetrators in the league if he is healthy. So it will not be a walk in the park.

I understand that, but you were talking about him guarding Parker or Green - then you talked about him needing to guard Leonard on the block, out of nowhere. Did you mean to say Leonard or? Because that would be three players he would potentially be guarding and not two like you first mentioned. This is all without mentioning there will hardly ever be a switch where Curry needs to guard Leonard.

See:

I'd rather give draymon green a career 32% 3pt shooter, harrison barnes, and iggy wide open 3's then give curry 5ft of space coming off those screens.

DJ and chris needed to just double or trap curry hard off the screen get the ball in green's hand and give him open shots and don't allow him to drive and dish to klay.

Blitz pick and roll and tell the man guarding klay to never disengage from him no matter what. Anytime green, iggy, or barnes shoots i consider it a win
