From music to Hollywood to professional sports, there doesn't seem to be any room for a real black man to exercise independent thought. Almost none of of the black celebrities in each of these industries are ever able to demonstrate unequivocal support of black people without coming under scrutiny and eventually finding themselves ostracized. The only ones who've survived are those like Lebron, whose talent is of such quantifiable value that blacklisting them is near impossible. It's hard to find a black celebrity who isn't parroting what their white benefactors have coached them to say. This is why I rarely watch sports or movies, and the reason I listen to hip-hop from independent artists like Styles and others who don't hold their tongue when it comes to producing content that speaks to black people. I wish we could all just turn the TV off, stop buying tickets, and collectively boycott the American entertainment industry. It's enslaved our minds and taught us not to question this prison we make every attempt to ignore our occupancy of. :francis:

Im an Internet marketer and i follow several black men who are millionaires :wow:

All self made, keep telling yourself america doesnt want you to be great.:hhh:

You have to take it and these men didnt come from money. Straight up hustle and risk taking.:yeshrug:

But if your doing that 9-5 and are happy with a monthly paycheck then ofcourse your not going to become rich.

Either you take your future in your own hands or lets others do it for you:yeshrug:

I wasn't talking about black men on their independent grind. That's the only way we can truly make it, and I'm in the same lane. I'm referring to the entertainers, those who are cited as examples of black excellence on the public stage. Not a single one of them, with only a handful of exceptions whose talent and draw is undeniable, are allowed to express an independent thought about the black experience without it being approved by the cacs who write their checks.

Depends on how successful you want to be. A real black man's success ceiling is Denzel, but if you ride the fence and support other groups then your ceiling can be Jay Z.

Jay-Z is far more successful than Denzel. Denzel is a worker and always has been. I respect him, but I won't act as if he isn't someone whose well being is dependent on who writes his checks. Jay-Z writes his own checks. He doesn't work for white people and is self-made. There is a difference.
