Are the Majority of Movie Theaters doing the assigned seating BS?

It depends on the theater and when you go see it.

If its a blockbuster or highly anticipated movie and you want to see it the first weekend, you gonna have to suck it up.

I mean what's the point of buying tickets weeks in advance if you can't choose your seat.

I prefer assigned seats, and I like getting my tickets at home, and paying.

One time, a mother and her child were not in their correct seats, and the kid was in my seat. I just looked at them like but let them sit there because the theater wasn't even half full.

I seen "Infinity War" in IMAX, which had assigned seating. shyt was for me because a guy was sitting in my seat when I got there....told him to move....he moved, but still. And there was other people that was in the wrong seats, too. What's the point of assigned seating if the average person is too dumb to know where to sit?

the only issue is when you choose your seats online, you end up with odd seats in between groups that nobody would want to buy because they are by themselves.

I understand all of the positives of assigned seating but I still prefer to see movies at the small theater nearby with bummy unassigned seats, sticky floors, limited snacks, and long lines. It takes me back to my childhood.
