KPop is just American pop but in Korean. The reason it's so popular is because the singers are not ugly (pause) and it's pushed heavily with money by the South Korean government.

I'm sure if a country like Vietnam or Thailand pushed music like that, it would become massively popular (even though Vietnamese or Thai isn't the most pleasant language to listen to) It's all about the money.
