Where exactly was the diss? He said he wanted to be the best rapper basically. Where exactly is the diss. And lol@rappers meaning what they say. if these nikkas meant what they said. Wouldn't none of these nikkas be alive.

When 50 was calling nikkas out I honestly believe he meant all that shyt. And u know exactly what I meant about Kendrick dissing stop being so literal. The fact is 50 had his feet on nikkas neck when he was on top and us fans was begging for togetherness and when we get it we wanna see competition again. I'm convinced you can't please the casual hip hop fan.

Subliminal disses are an art within themselves and is a staple of the NY Rap scene. It will never "die"....

Co/sign. Alot of subliminals are creative and dope within their own right.

When Drake got at Rihanna in no lie:

Far better than if he would have said some overt shyt like "Rihanna was fukking me while she was with Chris Brown" or w/e

When 50 was calling nikkas out nikkas was saying he was ruining hip hop and nikkas need to stick together like the south, the fans asked for the current climate of hip hop. Hell they said the same thing when PAC started calling nikkas out, minus the south part. There is no pleasing us hip hop fans.

The difference between 50 and Kendrick was that 50 was making it as personal as possible. It wasn't "Hip Hop" with 50 he was behind the scenes trying to fukk with D Block's album releases and starting beef with nikkas he didn't even know like Fat Joe. There was no spirit of Competition with 50 (except for the staged sales showdown between him and Kanye) 50 took great pleasure in going on the radio reading artists soundscan numbers and belittling them for low sales. When you have Tony Yayo tracking down Game's manager's teenage son and putting hands on him it ceases to be "Hip Hop".

no.

You know who was the king of sublims lowkey? Common.

Dude has been doing it since the mid-nineties

he's also one of the kings of direct disses to complete the cipher, dude had no problem putting Ice Cube, one of the most feared battlers of all time in a box, broken mic and all.

Kendrick's verse seemingly got cats open on this now.

Papoose called out Drake AND Kanye.

Buddens callin' out Meek and Jay Elec.

No more of that p*ssy "he COULD be talkin' about so-and-so" shyt, the bar has now been raised to where names are being dropped and identities confirmed.

Really, alot of it stems from the fact that rap is currently in a place where the climate isn't dangerous and nikkas ain't dyin' over this shyt. So any perceived "beef" will only be kept lyrical.

Like, why SHOULDN'T it be this way? Rappers make diss songs containing a bunch of tough talk against other rappers all the time and then be like "it's just music, just in fun"...what's the difference between that and what Rick Ross is doin', e.g., sellin' an image that everyone knows isn't true but it kinda doesn't matter? They're both based on a false premise. :manny:

But yeah, I don't want to see no more of these dudes bein' "cryptic" with their insults and disses, that era is over.

Thats not the bar being raised breh :manny:

Subs are one of the best things about rap. It keeps out the hypebeasts and forces rappers to use their song making talents to get over instead of pointless controversy and gimmicks. All the legends of the 80's & 90's religiously used them.

Lets wait and see if any of the named rappers respond or to be honest, if Kendrick even responds.
