The ones gentrifying are the developers and firms actually buying up the property. They are definitely rich cac conservatives. The liberals you think are the ones doing it are just individuals who come across ads and websites showing housing that matches their personal budget.

"Liberals" can be just as conservative as "conservatives". Just not necessiraly on the same topics, or by expressing it the same way. Eating gluten-free and reading James Baldwin doesn't mean they actually want to live around Black people. Or at best they want to live around Black people that live like them. Which is why they change the neighbourhood and promote certain types of Black people, for example. Same tactics have been going on since colonialism.

Yea, it’s usually educated liberals pushing poor black people out. They have to be “liberal” enough to even consider living near black people in the early stages of gentrification. They come and put down BLM signs and lgbt signs and in 5-10 yrs that once black area is as white as Seattle

And people are reaching if they think the developers are conservatives, a lot of these developers use the woke “affordable housing “ angle to get community buy in and even subsidies for their projects. The developers actually fund the campaigns of democratic candidates in a lot of the major cities
