They were evenly match in the 2015 season but the 2016 NBA Finals proven that Cavs was not on the Warriors level. It took Draymond suspensions, Bogut and Iggy injuries to swing the Finals into a different direction. The Warriors didn't need Durant to win the finals. The addition of Durant was the move they need to stay ahead of the league.
Love also missed a game too that series. Draymond had the best game of his career in game 7, at home, and they still lost. They were evenly matched breh.

How ? The Warriors steamrolled the Cavs in the regular season and had them down 3-1. :leostare: If Bogut wasn't hurt and Green didn't get suspended, the series would have been done in five games. Warriors won all their games against the Cavs in blowouts. Talent wise the Cavs were beneath the Warriors in 2016. Everything went down for the Warriors when the league suspended Draymond.

You also forget: for all the positives that the Warriors had, they had Harrison Barnes to undo plenty of it. The equalizer in the Cavs/Warriors rivalry on top of all the extra shenanigans was possibly Barnes.

Getting rid of Barnes for Durant removed one of two main weakness of a 73-10 team, the other being a dominant center. But adding Durant in that place more than covered for it.

Regarding the thread: most Cavs fans are probably pulling for the Rockets tonight, they don't want to see the Warriors again. We know what's going to happen if it's Warriors vs Cavs. Cavs are more than likely to get swept and humiliated worse than last year.

Warriors winning again will be like that year and half Michael Jordan absence gap in the list of Finals winners.

Most people can’t remember Hou winning back to back finals.

But they do remember Jordan taking off to play baseball.

So Warriors winning back to back with Durant will just be mystique-less titles. Nobody will care or respect it except Warriors fans and Lebron haters.

Like I said, Love also missed a game but nobody seems to remember that. They lost 3 games with Draymond in the Finals. If they lost that much momentum from his suspension then they must have been evenly matched. They hadn't lost 3 games in a row all season, including when players were hurt or injured. If Bogut getting hurt is the nail in the coffin for them then that proves how evenly matched they were.

Just ask people who casually follow sports and don’t post on msg boards.

Majority of them think Jordan only took one year off then won the next three.
