I will never have any interest in the Astrobot games because they are commercials for Sony. Like I get it and it makes sense but it just rubs me the wrong way how it’s a full fledged game now, not just something to familiarize yourself with the new system controls

You don't even have to know the IP's to enjoy it.

My wife had fun and knows maybe a couple of the easter egg bots. It's main appeal is just being a really fun, pretty, and snappy platformer.

If you enjoy these type of games, you are doing yourself a disservice not playing it. It is dependent on a lot of nostalgia, but its very fun. You should give it a fair chance
