Are we sure Kerr is a great coach?

People are saying he is a great coach already....are we looking at all the facts here?


I mean he took over a very talented western conference playoff team.
He is responsible for inserting Draymond into the starting lineup.
People talk vaguely about his system but can never say what it is he's doing "screens and space"
They won a ring without playing the spurs, and facing injured teams (memphis, Houston, Cleveland)
He misses 42 games the next year and they go 39-3 without him, and end up 73-9 (34-6 with him)
He was coaching while they choked away a 3-1 lead and seems to escape any scrutiny.
They get KD and and cruise through the regular season.
He goes out for 10 playoff games and they go 10-0 without him.

If mark jackson was still the warriors coach they wouldn't be this good.Kerr took some of pop and phil jackson offensive principles and implemented them on the warriors and they became dominant because of it.

I dont see how you can watch old Mark Jackson Warriors and Steve Kerr Warriors and then say that. Huge difference in how they play and what they run. Unless you think the players all got together and decided to come up with and implement a whole new offense on their own, independently, but right after Kerr came on as head coach lol.

He may not be elite when it comes to game to game situations, rotations, etc., but the bigger thing he has to get credit for is the system. Which is why they still operate about the same even w Walton or Brown coaching and Steve gone...they just keep doing whats already in place.

Curry never gets called out for some of the laziest passes and shot selection ever
