I'm not understanding what's supposed to happen with Kerr not there?

His handpicked assistants continue to run his system they've been playing for 3 seasons.

Are they supposed to just fall apart, forget how to move the ball, forget the plays?

Hard to say he's "great" when he's had as this tools and advantages from the start. But Mark Jackson really didn't do much with the same team so you can't say he's a bad coach either. I'd put him in the above average range. But he ain't no Pop obviously :yeshrug:

People are saying he is a great coach already....are we looking at all the facts here?

I mean he took over a very talented western conference playoff team.:manny:
He is responsible for inserting Draymond into the starting lineup.:ehh:
People talk vaguely about his system but can never say what it is he's doing "screens and space" :mjlol:
They won a ring without playing the spurs, and facing injured teams (memphis, Houston, Cleveland) :hubie:
He misses 42 games the next year and they go 39-3 without him, and end up 73-9 (34-6 with him) :ohhh:
He was coaching while they choked away a 3-1 lead and seems to escape any scrutiny.:mjpls:
They get KD and and cruise through the regular season. :smugdraper:
He goes out for 10 playoff games and they go 10-0 without him. :mindblown:
His offense schemes, his playing experience, and his personality and how he relates to his players make him great imo. I didn't wanna give the cac his props initially, but he manages his relationships well. He attracts quality guys to his coaching staff too.

Take a 2 piece from arguably the greatest player in NBA history during practice, but still have that players trust & respect in the most crucial of moments, tell me Kerr is the truth.

They are running Kerr's system.

this board is sad
So they don't need him for in game adjustments? Halftime adjustments? Managing minutes throughout different situations (foul trouble, injury, momentum switches). 50-3 without him. For all of Mark Jacksons alleged woes, this team was a top 3 defense before Kerr.

I mean, Mike Brown won 60+ games twice with nothing close to this roster including a trip to the finals but I don't hear this adoration.

Kerr is in the locker room helping with halftime adjustments.

Steph Curry became an MVP under Kerr. Draymond became a transcendent defensive player under Kerr. You have to do better.

He is not on the bench during games. He is only there during some half times.

And Steph was better in 13-14 than he was in 14-15 (first MVP year and Kerr's first year)

Kerr gets the credit for starting Draymond and his development

He gets credit for helping the 50 win team get to the next level.

He also gets credit for coaching the only team to blow a 3-1 lead in the finals.

For the record I think he is a good coach but again, they are 50-3 without him and a 50 win team before him. That's not some 5 game sample size.
