As a man who wears a suit and tie everyday for work, tying ties is harder to learn then it looks. At least for me. I know how to tie one tie knot. I use another knot sometimes but I have to look at the video every time and it still will take several times. I’ve legit wondered if I was retarded before when trying to tie a tie off them videos :mjcry:

Damn.... I basically learned how to do tie properly in one go from a step by step video I saw many years ago I was in my mid or late teens. I guess you should stick to using a clip on or a bolo tie. To be honest I haven't been wearing ties for a minute nowadays you don't need to wear them at work and etc, though I usually wear bolo ties.

How many different knots can you tie tho? :leostare:

I only know half-windsor and four-in-hand. :yeshrug:

i can do those plus a full windsor and a victoria knot (which is just a four in hand with one more loop)

my father showed me when i was like 9-10 and made me practice until i can do it lol

Now what i can't do is tie a bow tie...thats something i need to get around learning how to do..until then..clip on bowtie :youngsabo:

:whoa: I’m not gonna rock the clip on. I feel like that shyt is for kids. I know the four in hand and o use that everyday. But every once in a while I will want the Windsor or whatever the one is most the execs be wearing and that’s when I have issues. Usually only using that for an interview or big meeting

I would start by reading up on many different knot types and trying to master the easy ones first. There are charts and infographics that rank them from easy to hard. Once you know how to tie one or two, then move on to the more complex ones if you want to get more fancy.

I personally like bow ties much more than regular ties though. I'll switch up to the skinny every blue moon too.

Yeah I just need to get all the Windsor ones down. I see that those are the knots all the top dogs be wearing. I’m very observant on attire. I get hella compliments on how I look and this is in a place where everyone rocking a suit and a tie. But it’s another level. Most all the important people rocking the certain type of knot and a lot of them make sure to have the dimple in their tie too.

Edit: I’m a slim breh but for whatever reason skinny ties don’t look right on me. Not the true skinny ones. I got several of the slightly skinny ones

Tying ties is def in that list of skills you should know as a man, right up there with stuff like changing a tire and cooking.

all a man needs to know how to cook is three things. Eggs and toast. BBQ( if you don't know your way around a grill :camby:),
and one signature pasta dish, be it spaghetti, alfredo or whatever for those netflix and chill scenarios.

Mix it up with some quick and easy dishes like homemade stir fry, veggies, and pan seared chicken/salmon and you're good forever :wow:
