I’m actually pretty close to both a Math and Physics minor. I weighed the decision but the main two drawbacks are that it’s another semester or two of courses (because it’ll mess the schedule) and it’s expensive because I’m paying for school out of pocket. Most likely won’t be pursuing a minor but if I do go for more school from here it’ll be an MS for Physics, CS or Math and specialize in something like A.I. At this point though, most likely won’t be going for an MS either and want to get some free time back.

A Masters degree is useless. PhD or don't bother.

Speaking as a 30+ breh with a CS degree. You not gonna want to go back to school unless you one of them people who like academic stuff. This will be the only point in life when you'll have the patience to sit down and be forced to learn advanced mathematics and physics.

Once you get in the real world and start working. If it's not making you extra money then you aren't gonna want to learn it.

Yeah, I’m definitely familiar with how it goes. I’m actually older and went back for BSEE not only for the job flexibility and interest in the field but additionally partly to prove to software employers that I can get that kind of degree while holding down a full-time full-stack software job.

Of course. Because good connections are important. Especially for us because they’re often hard to come by.

My daughter has a white friend from school who told me that he has to go to the University of Alabama, even if he ends up using mostly loans. He said it’s because his dad went there and told him that the connections he make there is an investment and he’ll see returns for it. We have so few people in places that can help us with connections but it has to start somewhere.

White men and women with high school diplomas are getting paid more than Black college graduates because we rely on their system for jobs. This uppity negro take is really not the move.

it's probably coming from a place of hurt. the only time people have tried to "put me in my place" or whatever on some "you think you know better just because ...." usually it's me telling them something they don't want to hear so they are offended and think i'm being uppity lol. nah, i'm just not going to go along with dumb ish and most of the time the instances i'm talking about have nothing to do with my degree or profession which is the hilarious part... it be common sense!

I have a PhD, so her degree means nothing to me. I've dated plenty of PhD women. Having a PhD doesn't make you smart. It just means you can do work and are disciplined. I know plenty of stupid PhD people. I'll be honest, part of the reason I got a PhD is so people can't hold their degree above me. Having a PhD doesn't even mean anything. Everybody has PhDs. It's not that hard; you just have to do the work. Having a PhD means nothing. Degrees mean nothing. Some of my friends don't even have a BA, and I'd say they are just as smart or smarter then me. Degrees mean nothing. They really mean nothing. Everybody has a degree now. An MA is just like having a high school degree. It's expected that you have that. A PhD is just something you do if you are good at school. It doesn't translate into anything. Sure, it will get your foot in the door for some jobs, but in my experience employers prefer experience over degrees. Somebody with 10 years of experience with a BA is actually more attractive to employers than somebody with a PhD and only 2 years of experience. Degrees mean nothing.

You don’t have to make payments on your student loans as long as you’re an active student, or marry a sucker who will be forced to pay at least half of them for you.
