I think we have a degree of hardship to through before there is another collective era of peace and cooperation.

I truly believe that we will see truly horrific things within our lifetimes that humanity has never encountered before. Even if it is something like an earthquake simply due to the scale of damage that wasn't possible 100 years ago. Just as an example; if Tokyo gets hit by a really big quake it will be unimaginably bad because a city that large and vertical has never sustained anything like that. Even previous iterations of Tokyo that have been destroyed will pale in comparison.

Then there is freak shyt like solar storms that hit just right and take out a couple of continents worth of electronics. Humanity is in no way ready for that. It would be a shyt show for the ages.
