Are you truly grown if you dont have adult responsibilities

or better yet you dont do adult things like take care of yourself etc..? I mean technically people do have adult responsibilities but they don't handle them they let someone else handle them and treat them like a kid. This is one of the main arguments i have with people 18-20, mainly females.

Last night my brother(16) and my cousin(20) had gotten into it because she was on the phone talking about my brother with they granny about how no one can stand him and dont wanna be bothered with him(note: she just came from St.louis last month to live with us and he let her stay in his room)
So my brother got mad and indirectly called her stupid she caught on to it and got upset. They start arguing and they go to my mom and the shyt starts to calm down, then my cousin is like "eljay you're 16 so stay in a childs place".

In my head after hearing that im like, just because someone is 20 or whatever does not make them a true adult if they live off someone else or if they aren't independent. It seems like im one of the only people my age that can admit that even tho im in college and finna be over 18, that i still am a child, seeing as for i cant even legally drink let alone support myself if it wasnt for my mother.

Why do yall think about people who think like my cuz, do yall know anyone like this and should you take them seriously?

people like your cousin are childish to me not even because she has to live off someone else but because she is into gossipy things like talking about someone behind their back or indirectly while they are in the same house

I agree, my brother is 32 wit 3 kids and he's still a damn child. My moms do everything for this nikka. He don't work, don't pay rent, she pays his car note/insurance. She takes care of his kids, she even gets into the baby mamma drama for him with three different women. shyts disgusting he's like a 12 year old.

She was talking about him in front of his face while they were in the den, thats why he started the argument to make her mad. Im guessing thats what she meant by telling him to stay in a childs place. She musta thought that she can talk down on him but he cant say anything back because she is grown but he is a child. She ignores the fact that she is staying with us and it is my brothers room that she is sleeping in. Not to mention that she has been here since August 8th and is the only person in the house who has not cooked dinner once.

shyt is sad bruh, my moms was tellin me she thinks his dads side of the family want him to fail since he came back to living with us. nikkas going around tellin all the fam in st.louis that his grades are bad(not school just started the last week of august). We finally got a progress report and they was all As, and i guess thats what made my cousin mad and got them to fussin.

I agree that it kinda has a lot to do with your mindstate and where you are headed to.

Grown men have to pay bills that is for sure, you can't be having anyone pay all your bills and consider yourself grown

That's my older brother, he went away for 4 years, my mom always concerned with him.

But he makes good money and has his own place with his wife, but she`s always worried about him fukking up

I wasn't a grown man when I was in school either, once I graduated though shyt got real, quick. 90% of college kids aren't anywhere near "grown"
