Although it didn’t work out the way she wanted her label putting her on tour with Rod wave is a big deal since he’s the biggest artist of that generation. Just last month she had to cancel her own show due to low ticket sales.

not everybody gonna listen to you regardless of talent or exposure. like myself, i don't really rate vocal ability too high these days... i prefer beats and lyrics so ari is not someone i'm checking for too hard.
but everybody in the industry has talent
they threw tinashe on everywhere and everything and it didn't matter either, AND she was lightskin.
then tinashe went indy, she seems to be doing fine but she still booking the same small venues as she was before so you can't say she was being held back or mismanaged or whatever. ari should try it out so she can stop bytching.

She is big cause the label spent a lot of money on her but she didnt sell enough to recoup it.

Signing to a label means using their money and resources to make music

Independent means using your own money and resources to make music

This is what folks don't want to understand. These artist love burning through label advance money and big marketing budgets but when they flop and dont recoup they want off the label and out their deal. Labels or any business for that matter don't exist to lose money. You going to have to buy yourself out that contract or keep working and touring until you recoup. That's the business and what she signed up for when she took that upfront money.
