I recall Spears saying that he wanted his sketch comedy show to "Pickup where Chapelle Show left off." I remember seeing a clip on some talk show where he was cloaked in a wig and a dress. It was just some typical nikka mess.

People don't seem to understand that Dave Chapelle was never a stereotypical black comedian. He always had crossover appeal that the typical black comedian doesn't have. Prior to Chapelle Show his most popular work was Half Baked, which was more popular with white audiences than anyone else.

Which is why it ended up making him look kinda salty, as if he could have stepped in and been able to have that cross over appeal with his impressions. He's talented but he ain't THAT guy. That show would have been horrible.

I don't know anything about Aries Spears' but Key and Peeles' last movie, Keanu, was cliche, stereotypical, poorly written and horrid. It's a low level comedy film.
