Ugh, Spears aint hating at all. It's just you cornball ass suburban aspie nikkaz got ya panties all balled up.

He's right, just like Russell Simmons' is right, and I don't even like that nikka. Those dudes are corny, suburban type dudes. The type of dudes who you see as the only Black dude in his group of White friends.

Now, they can be funny here and there, but the times I've tuned in expecting to laugh, I generally end up like :francis:

Like when they did that Bone Thugs sketch. I was like :gladbron:, because I used to rock with them nikkaz back in the E.99 days, but I ended up watching the sketch like:stopitslime:.

And oh yeah, Kevin Hart aint been funny in years. That nikka is annoying as hell. When they bring him out at the all-star game a nikka be like,:sadcam:

All that being said, unfunny Black comedians are better than having to deal with Carlos Mencia and Dane Cook and all those unfunny ass White boys like Daniel Tosh and Demitri Martin that Comedy Central try to put on all of us. So, if I gotta make a choice, I'd take Key & Peele over what Comedy Central usually does.:yeshrug:

VLAD came up from BGOL.

whats that?

he's still hating to me...i like Key and Peele and I think Kevin Hart is funny too

but a lot of nikkas don't like them because they veer too far from "hood" comedy

mike epps does straight HOOD comedy and nikkas love him, that cat has NEVER made me laugh

hes not hating at all. he & Russell are 100% on point. and key & peele are okay with me.

its not about them not doing hood comedy. its bigger than that.

it has more to do with the fact that their comedy has no connection to urban America and theyre moreso aimed at white viewers. dave Chappelle was never a "hood comedian" either. nor did he really come-up thru the black circuit. but he had that connection to the black audience. a connection that's stronger than most "hood comedians" actually. all while being married to an Asian woman, and propping up a bunch of backpack rappers. so no, its not about being "hood".

spears broke it down perfectly when he brought up key & peele's hood spoofs. they look more like spoofs that a white comedian would make, rather than a black comedian. theres no authenticity there. no connection. instead you have a bunch of over-the-top acting and ridiculous bass in their voices. stuff that's typical of when white comedians do spoofs on black people.

then add to the fact that most black people have never heard of them before the Keanu commercials.

Funny they were chosen by many on thecoli though:sas2:...thought this was a urban lifestyle site, only to watch nikkas demonize Mike Epps,Lil Duval and other comics chosen by the black community, chosen by the hood, for makin a hood flick...people accused them of suporting stereotypes....meanwhile Key and Peele make a movie, where it looks like they exploiting stereotypes to me,and aint nobody said shyt:mindblown:

yea. I mean, I'm not gonna say that everybody that's in disagreement with what arie spears said, are people that file under that category.

but yea, the majority of the posters on this board are either not black, or theyre black from the burbs. and then half of the people on here that reside in an urban area, are the types that stay in the house. and theres nothing wrong with any of that, but they have a way of showing their asses.

and yea, I been peeped what youre saying about the comedians. I had to call people out on here a while back for the kevin hart low-balling.

there bootlicking known no boundaries but I guess it's ok because there funny:jbhmm:

And if these nikkas are so biracial your don't they ever make jokes about being white

that skit is hilarious tho.

but yea, they have some skits where theyre really steppin-n-fetchin.

I dont get people like you. Ignorant black people stay thinking in stereotypes. You even made it a point to type that way in your first sentence. Were you afraid people wouldnt think you were black unless you came off as "urban enough"?

nikka shut yo hoe ass up.

This is a Hip-Hop board. How the fukk am I supposed to talk?

I made a point to say that because I'm constantly surprised by how different the nikkaz on this board are in comparison to the Black folks in my neighborhood and in my family. It's like these dudes are completely disconnected to the hood or something.

:patrice: go to 1:12 and 1:40, and then go to 3:15 in this video and anybody BLACK saying they've never met a nikka that talked and acted EXACTLY like this is full of shyt. period:

show me where a white dude who's poking fun of black folks have gotten nikkas THIS accurately.
and then pretend that skit wasn't funny as hell :stopitslime:

and not sure how young you are but Dave Chappelle was on def comedy jam multiple times, in 1995 it didn't get more hood than DCJ,

we've BEEN known about dave chappelle even before he had his own show (before WHITE america knew who he was)

so that's TWO of your arguments shot down right there fam.

again - key and peele are comedic ACTORS. they're not stand up comics.
the same channels that black comedians typically go through to get their own movies and tv shows, they didn't go through
these nikkas are HATING. period.

and I didn't wanna take it here but some of you dudes don't know HATING when you see it:

Aries Spears

Rusell Simmons Harriet Tubman Short (it's on youtube but I won't post it here)

^^^^ now keep in mind, these two are saying that Key and Peele's comedy is not really "authentic" or "black"

regardless of what you dudes FEEL about a few of key and peele's skits, they don't have anything that they've had to apologize for or that have embarrassed themselves or their brand. at least not yet.

THESE TWO DO:

Oh please, them nikkaz didn't have anything to apologize for either. 20 years ago, shyt like that in Russ and Aries day would've just been jokes, but all you new nikkaz (who have been taught by your white overlords) are sensitive as fukk and can take a fukking joke.

Key & Peele are corny. Get over it. They're corn ass dudes. I don't know no nikkaz in the hood who fukk with them or were clamoring for them.

Guys like Rock, Chappelle, Kevin Hart, Mike Epps, Wayans Brothers, DL Hughley, Bernie Mac, and even dudes like Steve Harvey and Cedric The Entertainer were "Black" comedians who then crossed over into the White mainstream.

Hell, Gary Owen gets more love in the hood than Key & Peele do.

Key & Peele were dudes who's audience has ALWAYS been majority White and their comedy tells that. Doesn't mean they can't be funny as I can't lie me of the skits y'all posted were funny as hell and are convincing me that I should give them another shot, but they're corny. They can be funny and corny.

We just gotta change our expectations of them. That's maybe part of the problem. They wanted us to think they were the Chappelle show replacement, instead, we should just probably look at them as funny half Black dudes and not expect to see our perspective from them, just like we wouldn't from Saturday Night Live or Mad TV or some other majority CAC show.

did you really just say that a skit about Harriet Tubman, not a random black female slave which would still have made the skit suspect, but HARRIET fukkING TUBMAN sleeping with white men would have been funny 20 years ago!?

and then a dude KISSING another dude to sell a joke would've been cool in the 90's too!?!?

what comedy skits and shows were YOU watching!?

giphy.gif

i know you want to defend your stance and make your arguments, but damn don't just get up on here and say anything, now you're trying to alter reality, trying to give nikkas new memories n shyt...

Dude, In Living Color was doing slavery skits in 1991

Richard Pryor was doing slavery skits in 1977

Now, you're trying to put qualifiers on it where it has to be Harriett Tubman and and she has to be sleeping with white men, but people have been joking about slavery FOREVER.

Now, that gay shyt is some new White liberal shyt that I agree wouldn't have happened 20 years ago, but gay marraige and all that tranny shyt wasn't legal 20 years ago.

man, I own in living color on DVD and am fully aware of these skits, they were way over the top and actually caught HELL from both black and gay community leaders

but not even they would go as far as to show harriet tubman making a sex tape with a white slaver
that's like poking fun at emmit till, showing him as a foul mouth pimp or something - some shyt you just don't do. :comeon:

either way Russell Simmons had to apologize so direct your anger at the thousands of black folks that didn't like that skit - not just me.

bottom line is that all of this supports my argument that there's envy behind their criticisms of Key and Peele - who has NEVER faced this type of criticism and are seen as hilarious across the board by everyone - even the haters in here are admitting some of these skits are funny :russ:

so imagine seeing key and peele from these two nikkas eyes; they're salty. period. :yeshrug:

that skit is corny. and no, I cant relate to dude's character.
I like some of key & peele's stuff & have nothing against them. but that skit is a can of corn.

I never said Chappelle didn't come up thru the black circuit. or maybe i said it wrong. probably my fault.
but what I'm saying is that Chappelle didn't blow up like that thru the circuit. hes not a name that's synonymous for appearing on def comedy jam and such. that's what aries spears meant when he referenced Chappelle.

:mjpls: I didn't ask if you can relate, I asked you to act like you don't know any brothas that act like that - white dudes imitating black dudes don't get those subtle nuances like that

Now lie and say you don't have a clue of what I'm talking about
