I was not a fan of Trump attacking a Syrian base in 2017. This kinda shyt happens all the time in Basic and AIT, not as much when you get to your unit though. Though when I was a young PFC in the 82nd back in 2004, our barracks did have a full on brawl with the infantry cats in the barracks behind us. We lived in those old WW2 era barracks off Gruber, across from Gavin Hall and Ritz-Epps.

I don't believe in the thought process of "I'm fighting for your freedoms, etc." You didn't get drafted. You volunteered. There are a lot of quagmires we've stuck our nodes in for a variety of reasons that I believe we should have left alone. You're maintaining our place on the world order and that's fine, but I'm not going to bend over backwards because you wear a uniform when in reality, you joined for a Dodge Challenger. Much of the money spent in Afghanistan could have been used on our decaying infrastructure here.

The fukked up thing was us non amputees were told that we had to be thankful that were weren't like the amputees or burn patients. If I had lost my balls like some of them dudes did I would've killed myself and some random people.

I used to drive back on I-95 and would see 82nd billboards a hundred miles out. It used to legit turn my stomach. I generally liked the Army but I still have to remind myself about how much Fayetteville sucked. Benning wasn't so bad because the A was right down the road.

I used to hate approaching Fayetteville because I was involved in a lot of shyt there, so when I came back I would dread seeing people or surroundings of rather forget about. shyt just happened to me last week too, cat recognized me and asked me if I used to run with somebody who I legit haven't seen in 9 years minimum, and haven't thought about in about as long, too....

The culture can be oppressive, everywhere you go is this stars and stripes shyt and people will look down on you if you aren't some gung-ho "support the troops" type. You don't even have to say anything offensive, if you let it be known you feel differently people act up on you...

I feel the same way. nikkas make a choice of the military as a career, the same way anyone else makes a career choice. Our military and our government don't deserve to be unfairly disrespected or targeted, but you also don't deserve your ass kissed for volunteering for it, and no one deserves a put down because they didn't make the same choice. I'm civilian and don't know the full extent but it's an open secret that many service members are brainwashed robots and the orders placed upon people in wartime have often been given in dishonesty and selfish interests....

My mom did 22 years between Coast Guard and Army and while she enjoyed her service overall and is proud, worked in IT and deployed in wartime and has spoken often about the sliding moral scale of the military...

Lotta people I knew who joined only joined just because they assumed it's a "change my life" card. And I know it is for some, my parents being twice, but many people join without weighing all the benefits and consequences and being committed to it...

we have to allow them to have their phones unless conducting training in a SCIF...We train permanent party and IET and we aren’t taking the permanent parties devices so it’s only fair to allow the IET to have theirs....From the time classes start. Once they get back with their Drill SGTs they follow whatever policy the drills have but during course hours they have them.

Yeah but look at the GWOT army you were either in the field, or in schools or deployed, you barely had time to think. That's what TAPS is for to help you transition. You can't just get out without a plan. I mean you can but it doesn't make sense. I wanted line shyt up.

I knew a guy who got out from Korea they literally shipped his ass to bragg and he got out. That nikka lived in the barracks for several weeks (the unit he was assigned to was deployed) after he got out. I asked him what his plan was he wanted to get a job at the Game stop in fay (he wasn't from NC).

The idea was to do an enlistment, the war to be over and plan to get out. That didn't happen. I was almost indepth. That's the case for why a lot of guys I know stayed in.

Made me real fukking humble about my injuries too. I felt bad for the guys who were in one way or another forced or obligated to put on the act - its not just for TV or anything either. They'll hit up fundraisers for charity, keep their kids/families NOT as depressed as they are, give motivation to people who need it. But at the same time, fukk that. That's harder work than anything else you're asked to do.

Its funny how people gobble it up or immediately hate it too. Like nah, motherfukkers really go through hair and makeup before shooting that commercial. Its a job for them too.
