Arnold Schwarzenegger vs. Sylvester Stallone: Who had the better '80s filmography? Strictly 80s, between them two who was the bigger star? Explain.

Which star had the better and more memorable run during the '80s?

Rocky is still being praised today, look at the Creed series. Those movies were everywhere and viewed syndicated on television like crazy. Used to see the marathons all
The time.

If we’re being real, Rocky III and IV are lots of flash, not much substance: III is basically a training montage that got stretched into a movie, and IV is 80% music video, 10% snow jogging, and 10% Cold War propaganda.

People act like fighting Ivan Drago was the height of cinema when really it was just Rocky yelling “If I can change, you can change!” to a crowd that wanted him dead an hour ago.

And if we really want to go there, Rocky V dropped in 1990 like doodoo, with street fights and emotional speeches that couldn’t save it.

But those movies were huge. The motivation stuff keeps it all relevant today. It marked a time during that era.

I classify them as Hollywood Motivation videos. While Arnold had the better films, Sly's movies were motivation/feel good/get your ass in the gym-films. Plus true as well, this was 80's... Cold War was beginning to end, Rocky IV and Chernobyl happened.

:mjlol:The killer move of OVER THE TOP? Placing your fingers over the knuckles of your opponents, making your opponent howl like a fukking werewolf...

I explained this movie to my girl tonight. She was looking all sorts of confused :dahell:

Listen, Sly drives a truck BUT on the side he is a world class arm wrestler. And if he wins this championship of arm wrestling he can get custody of his son. :mjlol:
