Low-key Mel Gibson had positioned himself to retire lovely and then he got drunk and accidentally showed that he was just a virulent racist.Correct, if you take away Rocky 4, Sly's 80's movies look odd... I would even say that Mel Gibson had better movies than Sly in the 80s.
Michael b jordan already said no to fighting Clubber Lang jr, creed 3 is a reworking of that idea
I can understand why people would think Sly was the bigger star in the 80's. He arrived first with Rocky, but a ton of that star power was dictated by Patriotism, Military and Cold War/Reagan-era.
Arnold's characters weren't dictated by politics or locked into Cold War-era tropes.
You see it, Stallone's films were pure patriot porn. I love Rocky 4 but that shyt is wild![]()

It’s actually a testament to his ability to act that people wasn’t able to put it together until He outright said it. His directorial career is full of MAGA classics. His most successful series was starring next to Danny Glover.
Carl Weathers deserves a spot in that pic
i can't give arnold full credit for predator. what made predator special was the predator. the predator is what made that movie what it was.Every kid in the 80's had one of those big ass rambo knives as a toy and a red head band they made out of an old shirt. But every kid also had a toy uzi (Commando/Terminator). Hard to say who was the bigger cultural icon. It might be a tie. Looking back at their movies though, Arnold is the clear winner. Predator is one of a few 80's movies that still holds up and is not dated. Still better than most action/sci-fi movies that came out in the decades after. Even better than T2 imo.
