Not like Nas makes radio friendly songs anyways. He can't drop 4 singles/videos like that.
im sayin man "back then" was a single to me. "stay" was a single. "reach out" was a single.

"summer on smash" was a single :laff:

Same shyt on Hiphop is dead

Black presidents shoulda been a single. Who killed it. Where are they now

Streets Disciple - Nazareth Savage, war

i could go on and on the wasted potential kills me

Nah man.... Let the people pick... Not a "vote" either.... See that's why the mixtapes were important... You'd have a song bubbling that people ROCK with, and you could package that and make it your "single" it happened organic... You didn't force it on people to take it or leave it. A lot of time that single that they didn't like gets left off the album all together.

I hate when artists have songs out that people fukk with and then they'll go left like "here's my single, "money, money"(ex.)" foolish.... "Money , money" flops and then you force feed another one.. And another one.... Then you got 3 songs you gotta scrap. Waste of your marketing budget.

Gotta stop you there. Fucc mixtapes as a staff, a label, and a fuccin' crew.

Even back in the day you would get a cut on a mixtape/early and you'd fucc wit' it
then the album comes out and the cut you fucc wit' is a different version. Boo.

I don't even bother with the modern mixtapes now, they're just random songs. Nah.

I would have released THIS as the first single by a waaay better video...

But instead of night it would have been day like a cool as afternoon just cruising the streets.

Also, 50 Cent releasing "Best Friend" instead of "I'll Whip Your Head Boy" from the GRODT Soundtrack. That just made the "he's doing the same thing he was dissing Ja Rule for" stigma to the forefront. I know Best Friend charted in the Hot 100, but I think that single was so damn soft that it hurt 50 in the long run.

He mentioned that before in some interview and said he put that out to try and make olivia hot and recoup some of the 3m he burned on her.

Honestly, I think Kendrick should've released "Alright" as the first single instead of "I". Then released "These Walls" afterwards.
I think the album would've sold more had he chose alright and I and then drop King kunta video in the summer for those Compton Hood visuals. I honestly think he could've gone platinum again, but he sacrificed making radio friendly mainstream songs to get his message across
