You know
Amarie was on the same label as Beyonce and JLo. They always prioritized their music over hers.

But the real kicker is Amarie's producer. They essentially blew up together. Her producer created a unique sound, and Amarie's music had a lot of DC Go Go influence.

Eventually, her producer was in high demand, other artist started created similar music. He produced for Beyonce.

Then the copycatting got worse.

Then Beyonce created an entire album biting Amarie's style

Amarie wanted off her label.

Then she had a falling out with her producer.

To put things into perspective, Amarie wanted this the be the first single off her 2nd album, but the label didn't like it and didn't support it. Amarie had to promote it herself.

Eventually, it got a buzz, and the label started pushing it. J Lo tried to steal the song, but it was already blowing up on the radio, so the label told J Lo nope.

But they didn't stop J Lo from making a carbon copy

:mjlol:

Amarie was a victim of coming out with her own style and sound, that everybody wanted. But she wasn't big enough in the eyes of the music industry.

I’m one of Beyoncés biggest critics but that Amarie joint came out in 2005 :gucci:everyone knows She was copying beyonce. Crazy In love came out in 2003 :stopitslime:

I’ll never forget the day 1thing premiered on the radio.

I don’t remember who was dj’ing that day but he went crazy, probably played it 10 times in a row.

Then it started getting requested all day every day.

Shorties went nuts when it came on in the club :wow:

Amerie had great music all around though.

It wasn’t just that song.

^THIS^

No longer should an artist ever let themselves be considered that. As long as you can release your art to an outlet you have a choice and that is all the comfort you need.

Fame is a helluva drug breh.

Some would much rather look like they have it to millions of people, than to actually have it but only a couple people know or even care.
