Much of Amerie's career downfall had to do with what happened with this album:

Because I Love It - Wikipedia

220px-Amerie_-_Because_I_Love_It.png

I was a big R&B head back then. I was on a trip in Japan and went into a record store and saw this album. I was geeked :gladbron: so I copped it. It was a good album. Musically it was a departure from the 1st 2 albums but still strong. I waited for it to come out in the US and it never ever happened. No publicity no videos NOTHING.

So now that I am reading this thread I am putting the pieces together...

What year was 1 thing released? :stopitslime: What year was crazy in love released? :usure:

I don’t know what year it officially released but as been stated in this thread, Amerie had to put the record out herself before the label got behind it.

That’s the industry bullshyt that this whole thread is about.

They wanted to shelve her and give her whole style and sound to Beyoncé because at the time they had no idea what to do with Beyonce as a solo artist because she had no personality or style of her own.

Amerie threw a wrench in the system so they stopped releasing her music in America all together.

Breh like...I just don't get it. Dude had it all:

  • He could make beats
  • He could make legit radio hits
  • He had a fresh style to the game
  • He birthed Emo/LoFi Hip Hop
  • He did melodic tracks WAYYY better than most rappers nowadays
  • He actually knew how to create legit albums from track one to ending (The Pink Lavalamp and This Perfect Life)
Dude is a prime example of the problems with mental health and what needs to be done because it hurts that such a amazing talent is in the shytter because of his own mental vices :mjcry:

Even when he got that second chance, he still managed to fumble the bag:francis::

Dudes beats were trash and unmixed.

His lyrics were the same "sense of entitlement", "oh I made it I was a loser now I'm rich.", bullshyt every other cookie cutter blog rapper was saying 10 years ago.

He couldn't sing. And anyone who says he could sing, is deaf.

And he had absolutely NO SWAGGER at all.

Let alone dude having women sucker punch him in public for the INCEL that he is.

Even Max B was uncomfortable with dude in the vlog they did for that song they did back in 09.

Have you heard that shyt? Max does his best to save the record and Hamilton destroys it with his wack ass verse....and 30 bars of nonsense cooing and wack ass melodies at the end.

"Take me to the skyyyy"
:ahh:

"Feel like I can flyyyy"
:ahh:
"Look me in the eyeeee"
:ahh:

Who the fukk was this nikka singing that homoerotic shyt to???? Max???
:dame:

To say he could have been where Kendrick is at, is simply disrespectful.

fukk Charles Hamilton.

You’re playing yourself breh.

This is a known fact by people that was around at that time and in the black community.

Im sure if you do your googles or YouTube searches correctly you’ll get your answer.

Charles Hamilton was wack to me then and is still wack to me now to this very day.

Check this vid of Serius Jones battling dude nad KDot laughing his ass off in the corner.

Yes. This is actual footage of an event that actually happened in real life.

Charles and I have mutual friends and what I heard at that time was Jimmy Iovine wanted to sign him under the condition that he became more pop, like a Chance the Rapper or Anderson Paak, and Charles refused so they dropped him. His mental health began declining from there. Charles also ghostproduced and wrote Eminem’s Relapse album.

This literally sounds like something Charles Hamilton wrote while having an episode.
