I’m one of Beyoncés biggest critics but that Amarie joint came out in 2005 :gucci:everyone knows She was copying beyonce. Crazy In love came out in 2003 :stopitslime:

That's something I've always consistently noticed on this forum - when someone gets accused of biting a lesser known artists the timelines are always WAY off. nikkas on here said Michael Jackson bit Billie Jean from Billy Ocean when the Billy Ocean song came out 2 whole years later :mjlol:

Or Just Blaze bit the Soon You'll Understand Sample from Alchemist "Hold You Down" when Hold You Down came out 3 years later and Alc HIMSELF said he was inspired to flip it after hearing Soon You'll Understand :mjlol:

You know
you are not wrong he referenced the wrong song this is what started that sound not one thing... the blueprint beyonce stole. controversy stems from this

2002 Rich Harrison

then came crazy in love

Amarie was biting Mary J bilge with this sound :martin: that’s who I remember her being compared to

Those two songs don’t sound nothing alike tho
:heh:
if you can't hear it then that's on you the influence was audible enough that people caught wind of it and Rich had a run and it was often referenced as Ameries sound when others sought it.

if we still had sohh threads you would literally be able to read a play by play of when crazy in love came out and the reactions and accusations of biting. one thing did not start that controversy

You’re playing yourself breh.

This is a known fact by people that was around at that time and in the black community.

Im sure if you do your googles or YouTube searches correctly you’ll get your answer.
Crazy In Love came out mid-2003 while One Thing wasn't even RECORDED til 2004 :heh:

Speaking of which we could Add Freddie Foxxx for this album :jbhmm:

Industry_Shakedown.jpg

I mean he was on here not only dissing rappers but he was dropping record execs name like Slyvia Rome, Rifkind and Steve Stout.

Hilarious shyt. I’ve said on here many times folks on here have a irrational hate for Beyoncé. shyt you never see outside the coli. I’ll never understand it. They’ll have you thinking Beyoncé got every chick from her era blackballed

The Coli is stuck in 2008/2009 to the point it's comical.
Charles Hamilton was cool for this lane but SO MANY producer rappers are smoking this man in 2022.

Jpegmafia.
Black Milk.
J. Cole.
Terrace Martin
Flying Lotus etc.

Dude gets gassed because of the period he came out in and the age of many of the posters on this website.
And this is coming from someone who fukks with Charles Hamilton.
I played "Well isn't this awkward" and "Pink Lavalamp" as well as a few other mixtapes straight A LOT....a DECADE ago. :pachaha:

Also, let's get this out of the way:
Charles Hamilton IS NOT and NEVER WILL BE fukking with J. Dilla on the boards....ever.........

Black Milk is a genius who actually worked under J Dilla for a hot min

I haven't been checking for J Cole since 2009 but that's just a matter of taste. You cannot deny what he has done for hip-hop and he is a legend as well as a capable emcee/artist.

Not too familiar with Flying Lotus but the handful of records I've heard from him are flames and Soupa by Blu is top 10 instrumentals of all time IMHO.

Terrace Martin I wouldn't have enough experience to speak on. Same with JPEGMAFIA.

But you know what I really detest about CH? He was like the kid who acted as if he was the golden child of the new wave...and not only wasn't, but he was a sociopath who revelled in the fact that he was a sociopath...and failed miserably in attempting to convince the world that it was his strength. Meanwhile if he had just stfu...improved on his craft, and capitalized on his one in a million opportunity, he could have been much better off.

But he didn't.

I make better beats than Charles Hamilton.

Occulonimbus edoequus
Tori Alamaze.

"Dontcha" fame.

PCD and Nicole Scherzinger's machine jacked her shyt and put that wack version out.

Then the label poured more gas on it by adding Bus to the remix...:snoop:

Ceelo and everyone involved couldn't do anything about it.

Ol girl had no way to make a name for herself after that.

The original is one of the dopest songs of the 90s-00s.

Who do think produced Crazy In Love..... Amare's PRODUCER.

Rich Harrison produced Amarie's debut album which came out in 2002. It was so successful that other artists wanted to work with him. And since both Amarie and Beyonce were on Columbia, she got first dibs.

Crazy in Love and Why Don’t We Fall In Love aren’t even the same tempo. Why Don’t We Fall In Love doesn’t even have the same big horns and Crazy In Love. No rapper verse or nothing. I don’t see the similarity

uses strings instead of horns but arrangement wise it's just a slow tempo one thing

you can blend them together including the vocals

Cruisin’
Ace Hood, Lauryn Hill (allegedly), Lupe Fiasco, Pharoahe Monch, Little Brother

EDIT: Also, probably the worst one:

Pls list why each of them were black balled. Especially Ace Hood. That’s a weird one.

This my first time hearing of Danny!

Decent music. I guess you had to be a underground head to have heard of him. What were his prime years? What do you think got him black balled? What is this college scandal they speak of?

Adina Howard blackballed? :jbhmm:
Roscoe Dash
Had no idea.
Bret you weren’t kidding about this guy being blackballed. I’ve never heard of him before this thread, his Wikipedia page has glowing reviews for his music but some of the links to pages related to him are dead and he’s got virtually no music up on any steaming app :ohhh:it’s like he was erased from everything
Damn that’s strange.
Charles and I have mutual friends and what I heard at that time was Jimmy Iovine wanted to sign him under the condition that he became more pop, like a Chance the Rapper or Anderson Paak, and Charles refused so they dropped him. His mental health began declining from there. Charles also ghostproduced and wrote Eminem’s Relapse album.
CH ghost producing and ghost writing for Em? Had no idea. I hope he’s still getting checks.
Lil C Style really got black balled? :mjlol:
