Average music career even with success is less than 5 years breh. You looking at entertainment like it's a 9 to 5. Most people don't make it and that don't mean you got blocked, theres no guarantees. Lil b, PAC DIV... none of these people got blocked.

I was a big R&B head back then. I was on a trip in Japan and went into a record store and saw this album. I was geekedso I copped it. It was a good album. Musically it was a departure from the 1st 2 albums but still strong. I waited for it to come out in the US and it never ever happened. No publicity no videos NOTHING.
So now that I am reading this thread I am putting the pieces together...
This is my favorite Amerie album. Has a real strong 80's/Pop vibe.

I deffo feel like from the time suge knight went to prison in early 97 until the time he got out in 01 there was a bunch of big wigs in the music industry that got together to blackball him out of fear that they didn’t want a repeat of what happened in the mid 90s when suge went overboard with a huge power trip when he was in position……

I never got the impression that Amerie was blackballed. Her song 1 thing did really well. She does her own thing now. I think she got married to an exec in Sony or Interecope and had a kid. I think she writes children’s books I’m not sure. She puts music out independently.
Oxymoron is the only one I know. They put out a mixtape in the early 2010s and haven’t heard of them since
