The only reason I'm not with the Macklemore hate is because I think it's directed at the wrong person. Its equivalent to getting mad at Jeremy Lin for the over hype which was obviously race driven. They're both innocent in this case, it's the people in power who should be recieving backlash (Grammys, white media, and in Lin's case, ESPN)

Calling him a faq (which he obviously isn't) and all this other shyt is redundant. He's just an ex drug addict who grinded his way to stardom. Can't be mad at that. You don't have to like bruhs music tho, I certainly don't.

I think that people are mad about the accolades and praise for the fact that he's white, not necessarily Macklemore.They are mad about one of the best MC's and artists period in years is getting left in the bushes on the big stage, DESPITE moving the same units as Macklemore.

Besides that all these pop cats got hated on from Macklemore to B.O.B. to Flo-Rida to whomever.. White, black, brown.


I can't lie though Thrift Shop was probably the song of the year and if it won, it did it rightfully.
It's a rare event in hiphop (or music) where a hiphop song with a real message is stunting on the top of the charts. I've always appreciated what he does as well, he tries to make that real and still keep it fun. And he seems like one of the realest dudes in hiphop when you listen to his interviews.

I've even heard numerous better white rappers alone. Dude is really not that talented nor does he make great music. If he was black nobody would care about his mediocre songs.
