No, this is NY all day. Pushing the boundaries like NY did in its heyday. The rest of NY is on some stuck-in-the-past imitation-rap shyt. Step it up.

Exactly. Do us:salute: When are these nikkas gonna apologize to us for their garbage?

Why the fukk should NY apologize for being wack when the wackness of NY at it's lowest still doesn't even compare to the wackness that has come out of every other region since it's downfall? fukk outta here. I think every other region (namely the south) should apologize to NYC for taking our culture & killing it.

How is pushing the boundries sounding like somewhere else...:aicmon:

It sounds like NY if you actually pay attention.

Slick rick comment, that nikka was born there you idiot. Thats why he was loved, he put his twist on it...how a ny nikka rqpping like he from houston.

From what I've read, Rocky spent some time in Houston cuz his dad moved out there. It's sort of like his second home.

so what's your issue?

how is ny on imitation shyt when asap rocky fakkit ass would kill to be from houston :nylost:

you NY cats are all saying the same thing. lmao. Notice how NONE of you are talking about how good the song actually is. whether the beat is fire, or the vocal delivery...

Like programmed robots, you're all responding with the same irrelevant remark. Without realizing that a) what Rocky's doing makes total sense and fits him and b) hip hop aint regional no more, hasn't been regional since the early 90s (Biggie, the rapper NY dikkrides, hopped on other coasts' sounds to blow up). And especially with the Internet now, people can be into rap from all kinds of places.

This is the problem with modern hip hop. nikkas don't even listen to the music. They're more concerned about the image and whether or not they can live through that image.

maybe ya'll need to start doing so. Then people outside of NY can actually give a fukk about your city like they do ASAP. He's the only dude people really give a fukk about, and ya'll still haven't figured out why? It aint got shyt to do with jeans. Only a lazy minded nikka would think that.

I know their shyt is straight Wu - that's why I love it. It's Wu done in a completely different way that could only happen in the 2010s. They took Wu and added other cool shyt that's far from the Wu sound (e.g. Screw, Bone Thugs flow and New Agey sounds).

Meanwhile, you got lames like Joey Badass who are doing bad Scenario remixes and sounding pretty much like 1993, but shyttier.

That song was always trash to me. and frankly, I hate seeing the ASAP dudes lean on legends for buzz. I was disappointed as hell to see Rocky do a track with Raekwon, Bone Thugs and all. fukk them old nikkas. Respectfully. And I say that as an early 80s baby who grew up when hip hop was HIP HOP.

Y'all need to wake the fukk up and innovate. Hip hop isn't regional anymore.

Besides, NY bit the West Coat's swag back in the early 90s, which led to them ushering in a new rawness in the form of Wu, Big, Nas, etc. The West Coast gangsta dominance made NY step their gritty shyt up.

Your favorite rapper Jay-Z made a career riding on Southern-esque beats courtesy of Neptunes and Timbaland.

Why hasn't NY stepped up with better relevant product for 2015? There's no more excuses.

outside of Rocky, I aint seeing it. Real talk. All I see is a sea of talentless wannabes appealing to a dated notion of "New York pride" while making some of the worst music ever. Your boy Troy Ave, who's trying to dikkride 50's sound to the top, is no different from that wack ass Sun God track. Coasting on the legacies of their parents.

People ignore ya'll because you haven't stepped it up. Period. And the one guy who does (Rocky and Clams Casino), ya'll nikkas hate.

The first thing ya'll need to do is find a new East Coast producer worth hearing.
:blessed:I'm not alone!

Just because its a lot of people there, it doesn't mean a lot of them love hip hop, and are creative. If you are a NYC head, you know how much people want to look like they have money, and that plays a big part in the type of music being created, and how its heard to the public. In other words, the artsy of the old NYC is not really in NYC now because everyone has to spend way too Much money to keep up with the Jones's. That means less love for the art, and more to get a quick buck.

Until someone can supply banging beats at a low cost to numerous artsy NYC artists, nothing is going to change, and NYC artist will be following what is hot, so they can get some money. It will be a producer who will change the NYC for rap music scene, not a rapper or fake DJ. The thing is this producer will need to have money or not care too much about living well because, he will need to find a way to survive in costly NYC. Back in the day, an artist can survive, and make music. Now, gtfoh.

He will also need to market his music outside of NYC, and people who listen to the radio because those type of people don't support what's new, just what's popular. Look at all the new artists who make it big from NYC, most of them get deals outside of NYC, then go back once big.

Im willing to bet that in the birth home of hip hop...a city with over 8 million ppl..that u can find between 500,000 and 1 million ppl who are die hard nyc hip hoo fans...the only thing with ny is it has to supoort its own and stoo bootlegging or trading mp3s...theres more than enough ppl in ny to make a nice living just selling to nyc fans with out having sound like from the south...

In theory, it is. In reality, you have to find these people, then find a way to sell them your product admist the other million of other "artists". It can be done but, like I wrote, unless the producer has money to live well, I doubt it. Remember you need more them 2-3 artists to make your city of 8 million create an industry that makes money. Rap music making money(real money) in NYC, is gong to be a hard job if everyone is broke. Living in NYC is not easy. To make music you need to eat, and live, unless you live with your parents. Even then its going to be hard, living in NYC.

For the wackness coming outta ny. I swear we got crazy talented nikkas that can go off and be successful but bullshyt media wont give em a chance...

Flex stay sucking this nikka off, hes trash!!! Dont affiliate him with NY please

I apologize to anyone that thinks this is the best we have to offer...

Troy's recent efforts to put out a hit are :scust:

Fukk this nikka for stealing Manolo Rose's song :snoop:

He has a shytty personality, and Flex is on his dikk hardbody but son isn't exactly wack. He's actually a pretty good rapper New York City: The Album was pretty damn good.

Chill with A$AP too, A$AP is dope they not even on the Houston wave like that no more. Rocky's ear for beats and flow is amazing, Nast is a very dope lyricist, Twelvy sounds like a long lost Dipset member, Ferg's got a dope energetic delivery and nice melodies. All these guys can freestyle, they be killing shyt on radio just like Dipset and Wu used to do it. They movement has died down considerably but Rocky's fist mixtape is classic IMO, his debut was one of the best albums of 2013, Ferg's debut was dope too, the Mob tape was inconsistent but had some bangers. I don't know how it's going to go now that Yams is dead. But them nikkas are good for NY IMO.
