Azealia Banks is the best new thing out of NY. Joey Badass has a decent album that is getting radio spins. OP is looking at the glass as half empty.

Did a Native New Yorker punk you?

So now you're sneak dissing because you feel a type of way about what I'm saying? LOL. You NY nikkas are so sensitive.

For the record, I got nothing but love for NY. Always have a great time when I'm there. As far as I'm concerned, some of the coolest people in the world live in NY.

I'm not making these comments out of hate. I'm making them out of pure disappointment. As a guy who used to live abroad, and hearing "Deja Vu" for the first time...we wanted to be ya'll! I was abroad singing "Uptown baby! we gets down baby!" New York ran this for real.

But ya'll fell off in ways that I still struggle to comprehend. And the "we don't rock with other coasts" mentality has become so pathetic. Ya'll don't even notice how pathetic you sound. Your stuff is so behind the times it's staggering.

Lol. Again you cant comprehend what im saying to you...we in NY dont fukking SPEAK with southern slangs...call it living in the 90s...

Slang is the least of your problems. Try making some great beats first. Then getting people with actual charisma to rap on them. Then we'll worry about right and wrong slang.

If im a NY rapper, its cool for me to rap in a british accent?

So how do you explain Slick Rick, one of your pioneers?

nikkas need to rap like they from NY.

No they don't. It completely depends on the type of music they want to put out.

NY is NY because it's made up of so many different cultures and backgrounds. NY is a world city. That's why people love it.

A cat from Queens could come out with a Korean flow and I would fukk with it. Because that's what I expect from NY: innovation on the highest levels.

If we're gonna keep it a stack, New York became what it is preciously because it bit other peoples cultures/styles, etc. But now you wanna pretend like you're too good to bite the South when you've been biting them since day one? (Where's James Brown from?)

Just tired of yall nikkas shytting on NY like we aint influence your fav rappers.

We're shytting on ya'll because we were such huge fans of ya'll, and we're asking you to step your game up. and instead of taking in some of our points, you're here beating your chest on some arrogant "I'm from NY" shyt.

Knock it off

maybe ya'll need to start doing so. Then people outside of NY can actually give a fukk about your city like they do ASAP. He's the only dude people really give a fukk about, and ya'll still haven't figured out why? It aint got shyt to do with jeans. Only a lazy minded nikka would think that.

I know their shyt is straight Wu - that's why I love it. It's Wu done in a completely different way that could only happen in the 2010s. They took Wu and added other cool shyt that's far from the Wu sound (e.g. Screw, Bone Thugs flow and New Agey sounds).

Meanwhile, you got lames like Joey Badass who are doing bad Scenario remixes and sounding pretty much like 1993, but shyttier.

That song was always trash to me. and frankly, I hate seeing the ASAP dudes lean on legends for buzz. I was disappointed as hell to see Rocky do a track with Raekwon, Bone Thugs and all. fukk them old nikkas. Respectfully. And I say that as an early 80s baby who grew up when hip hop was HIP HOP.

Y'all need to wake the fukk up and innovate. Hip hop isn't regional anymore.

Besides, NY bit the West Coat's swag back in the early 90s, which led to them ushering in a new rawness in the form of Wu, Big, Nas, etc. The West Coast gangsta dominance made NY step their gritty shyt up.

Your favorite rapper Jay-Z made a career riding on Southern-esque beats courtesy of Neptunes and Timbaland.

Why hasn't NY stepped up with better relevant product for 2015? There's no more excuses.

outside of Rocky, I aint seeing it. Real talk. All I see is a sea of talentless wannabes appealing to a dated notion of "New York pride" while making some of the worst music ever. Your boy Troy Ave, who's trying to dikkride 50's sound to the top, is no different from that wack ass Sun God track. Coasting on the legacies of their parents.

People ignore ya'll because you haven't stepped it up. Period. And the one guy who does (Rocky and Clams Casino), ya'll nikkas hate.

The first thing ya'll need to do is find a new East Coast producer worth hearing.

My god has NY fallen :mjlol:

Fallen in what sense? Afrikka Bambatta said he once visualized Hip Hop being worldwide and that in 2007 he was finally able to see that. The south doing they thing is actually a good think according to Bambatta.....Hip Hop expanding beyond NYs dominance is actually a good thing. NY neverfell...the attention just shifted from NY's dominance. Jay, Nas and Fab have been holding NY down something sweet for the past years. Saigon gave Hip Hop a classic in 2011. Battle Raps top mcs are from NY. Dont confuse the attention shifting from "fallen."
