First off it goes without saying that nerdy bitter atheists you met online aren't representative of all atheists.

And not that this kind of point scoring serves any purpose but you can't even begin to argue that more harm was done to black people by white atheists than in the name of Christianity.

The plight of black people is a social justice issue and no sensible individual looks to Hawking, Maher or even Dawkins for that matter for guidance in that regard.

Examples of Atheists that actively pursued equality for black people date back to the 19th century, beginning with figures like Franz Boas and Abner Kneeland and there have been many more since. If you were genuinely curious about what white atheists have done for blacks you would have checked.

At any rate there have been enough prolific black atheists over the last century for us to feel no need to look to whites so your point is kinda lost on me.
