Its really really bad and getting worse by the day here in LA and the Bay Area. Its going to reach a breaking point soon if not already

Outta curiosity, I keep hearing seeing this phrase but what does it mean? Not being obtuse, just generally curious as to what a homeless breaking point represents because ive no remote clue.

DC is a bit more tolerant but as newer residents:mjpls: infiltrate the city i'm starting to hear that same phrase

There will prolly be a social movement

Too many poor people leads to a lot of angry people

look, i get the rising COL and gentrification are making it hard out here, that said, from a property owner and tax payer perspective, it's annoying to spend this much money to purchase a home, pay all these taxes and not even be able to walk down main thoroughfares or your own block or use local parks, public transit, etc without fearing for your health/safety due to these sprawling camps, their sanitary conditions and the amount of drug addicted, unstable people that live in them along with those just trying to survive.

there's plenty of "out the way" places to tuck these folks while working on a better solution, that said again, that's our taxes going toward buying, setting up, cleaning and servicing homeless camps (people not paying taxes) as opposed to funding schools, better roads (roads in oakland are shyt :wow: ) and other general services. but these camps can't keep overtaking prime public spaces

Wealthy inequality, lack of living wages, less jobs and housing market

Those just a few but those are some major factors

America gonna look weird in 20 years. More and more people can't afford to live here

I'd argue unfortunately at some point these people are not capable of functioning in society like normal people.

It's sad but I've started to lose my empathy little by little for homeless individuals because I deal with them on a daily basis. A guy begs for something, I give him a coffee and a sandwich, the next week he's there begging me for the same thing. Even worse I see the same homeless folks on the 4-6 blocks I go on around work there for MONTHS. :gucci:

Not to mention that some of them have harassed some of my female colleagues. One of my coworkers, who's a male, ex-Army, punched one of these homeless dudes out for getting in his face after telling him to get away.

But I mean people are bleeding hearts and enabling these individuals to stick around but also making it unpleasurable for others who live here.

They're taking over places of BUSINESS in downtown districts! This will eventually affect tourism in California I think.

I was in San Francisco in 2016 and you see homeless ranting and yelling at people on every block. No one wants to deal with that shyt. NY homeless was more controlled than SF in my opinion.

Yeah it's never mental illness, and/or drug and alcohol abuse.
Lack of healthcare too, it would address both

I mean thats what happens in a failing society

You have tons of people who have been failed by the system and now the system has discarded them to bother you lol

This will only lead to trouble in the future because more homeless people are gonna be in the streets until something changes

It is going to get way worse BTW. There’s about to be 68 trillion dollars exchanging hands over the next 25 years ( baby boomers dying) and California will be ground zero for this since 44 percent of millennials who will inherit millions already live in California.
Just in the subgenres I follow on YouTube, I know several 35-50 year old white people only making it in LA/SF because they live with their parents or are tenants in one of their parents properties. So just imagine how bad it is for black people.

They are literally waiting for their parents to die and I doubt they'll even be able to handle the property taxes, bills, and maintenance on a paid off house when that day comes due to their mediocre incomes.
