look, i get the rising COL and gentrification are making it hard out here, that said, from a property owner and tax payer perspective, it's annoying to spend this much money to purchase a home, pay all these taxes and not even be able to walk down main thoroughfares or your own block or use local parks, public transit, etc without fearing for your health/safety due to these sprawling camps, their sanitary conditions and the amount of drug addicted, unstable people that live in them along with those just trying to survive.

there's plenty of "out the way" places to tuck these folks while working on a better solution, that said again, that's our taxes going toward buying, setting up, cleaning and servicing homeless camps (people not paying taxes) as opposed to funding schools, better roads (roads in oakland are shyt ) and other general services. but these camps can't keep overtaking prime public spaces

How many tax $$ that went to GSW and 9ers new stadium that coulda went to the aforementioned causes ?

Tho i feel yah on the all up in main thruways point, I hear tell shyt is ridiculous round yall way tho

I know it's a human rights situation but they gonna have to round up the mentally ill/drug addicted folks and throw them in a detention center so they can actually get the help they need. I know they don't wanna spend the bread for it, but these folks are making walking down the street terrible especially when they start acting like you owe them money. Quality of life in these major cities are declining, I'd rather live in a smaller city with less craziness.

Same thing is happening in Austin and the mayor is doing nothing about it. Our Texas governor may intervene though.

I get that they are human beings, but you can't have them in places of business! Sure they may not harm brehs, but what about brehettes and the elderly? Feces, needles, piss, dealing with a random homeless person who is probably suffering from some mental illness yelling and shyt when you're trying to work. fukk all that.

Fellow Austinite here, liberal cities like Austin created there own homeless problem by constantly increasing property taxes which in turn increased rent because property owners must raise the rent in order to see the same return. Austin has set it self up to automatically increase the property tax every 3 years. Its not sustainable. Homeless problem here will get much worse.

its always fukking drugs.....poor/middle class folks develop a small habit, which turns into daily use, which turns into a complete and utter vacuum for all their funds. they start missing work, get fired, their physical appearence changes to the point no one wants to be near them, and boom....they are homeless. wash rince repeat. fukk them.....if you give a fukk about fiends, ITS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU.

The thing is people get taken advantage by these individuals over and over because some of them run cons or make you feel bad for not giving you money. I feel that you are enabling some.

I see them on a daily basis and they ask for money. I NEVER give them money now. I will have some food or something I give them though and what pisses me off is when some folks decline it or get upset that I give them chips, drinks, or a protein bar instead of cash. Seriously fukk you.

It's sad. I work off of Congress and deal with these folks daily. This shyt makes me eventually want to move if I have to tolerate it any longer.

Wealthy inequality, lack of living wages, less jobs and housing market

Those just a few but those are some major factors

America gonna look weird in 20 years. More and more people can't afford to live here

can't forget to mention mental illness too. which a large majority of those people have. , no amount of money and assets are gonna help alot of those people because they genuinely can't help themselves

run for mayor (of a large city) on an anti homeless mess + transit reform ticket and toss the homeless in very large industrial meat grinders and feed the meat to the homeless. Sounds barbaric but we’d do it until there’s no more homeless. The toss out the leftover meat because who the fukk would want that anyway. Crazy, in theory but people are gonna rock with it

I kinda blame the landlords of alot of these places as well. They were doin a ton of foul shyt w/ their tenants (that the city was letting them get away w/) so they could raise their rent because they saw the property value was increasing
