Look, I copped GFID, and it is actually a great album. I'm getting more and more into it. But IMO, Ross, while he's talented, can only ever ascend to a certain level, because he's not a real person - he's a caricature.

The MCs that are GOATs to me, are the ones that "let you in" so to speak. Pac, Nas, Big, Em, etc.

You don't know who the fukk you're listening to with Ross, and it makes for a very different listening experience than with someone more credible and honest.

You can basically close thread on this I think.

BIG put out two albums and had some mediocre unreleased material. Ross is what 4 albums deep with multiple guest appearances and the compilation albums, not to mention the mixtapes? Ross passed BIG a couple years ago. Any rapper with more than two albums passed up BIG when you think about it. Revisionist ass nikkas milking the hell outta BIG's death. Let the man rest in peace already.

Ross could literally disappear from existence right now....never exist, and rap would be exactly the same. The same cannot be said for BIG, who at one point helped bring the spotlight back to the East when the West was crushing shyt.

Ross ain't even the most popular rapper from his region....BIG at one point was the most popular rapper in NY. And this was when the game was 100x more competitive.

Ross isn't an A-list rapper. He never was. People like Wayne, Jeezy, TI, hell even Luda, would be comparable to BIG, Wu-Tang, Nas, Jay, etc. in terms of importance in their respective regions and eras.

Ross would be like Heltah Skeltah. Around, occasionally collaborating with more popular rappers, but never quite "on".
