Honestly, I didn't read all of that shyt. But the reason I dislike feminism is how they treated other feminists who made the mistake of trying to help men and boys. Christina Hoff Summers got death threats from feminists. Erin Pizzey, a feminist who made the mistake of opening a domestic shelter for women and realizing that women were just as violent as men, also got death threats and also had her dog killed by feminists. And good ole Warren Farrell, another feminist(former leader of the National Organization of Women) who was stupid enough to also advocate for men and boys.....You can watch what happens here.

Warren Farrell protest at the University of Toronto - Full version - YouTube

:scusthov:

So yea, fukk feminism. fukk your male shaming. It's not the 90s anymore. It's 2013. Male shaming is old and it's played out by now.

Those extreme feminists are a hate group. Killing someone's dog cause she disagreed with the women?

I'm one of those feminists that believe in total equality between women AND men. For example: US and women in combat. I'm fine with that but I don't expect them to change their requirements because now women can be in combat.

That's why I get so upset when I see some of these posts because some of you are basing it on the extreme, uneducated, opportunist feminists.

props for being consistent.

Anytime. I just don't think anyone should be limited to certain roles or things just because of gender.

I mean I wanna be able to work, raise kids and do all that stuff and I want my husband to have the same options.

shyt, my step-dad took a paternal leave of absence from work when my mom gave birth to my baby brother. You think my mom was complaining? :usure: Guys, take advantage of this shyt. I always tell my guy friends this.

ha...I was just about to ask you about Hot Topic. At the end of the song they start saying names of women...I swear I hear them say Mia X...are they talking about
mia-x.jpg

Or is there another Mia X (ive always wondered that)?

as far as this thread....its an example of bad information (I bet it stems from Tariq Nasheed...who im a fan of, but he talks out his ass about certain subjects)... and meeting one person that is an extreme version of a feminist.

Its like a white person passing by a black Israelite and thinking any black person that says they are proud to be black is that extreme.

My girl calls herself a feminist and she cooks and cleans everyday :salute: .
Its more about letting women have the freedom to do what they want. Some dont want to live by the typical rules of society, some dont...whats the big deal :yeshrug:

Haha I think Le Tigre wrote Hot Topic as a young, beginning feminist's guide to who's who. Although some well-known feminists aren't named. :ld:

HOT TOPIC LYRICS - LE TIGRE

But yes totally you can be a feminist homemaker. That's something which is misconstrued with the mainstream about feminism.

It'd be cool to have a feminist debate thread here, and I thought about starting one myself, but too many people with misinformation would just make it into an attack feminists or the angry feminist thread.

Funny how these same women that claim that they are feminist would actually be with a dominant man sexually than a feminist man that kisses their ass. Guess sexual desirability is the great equalizer after all.

:usure:

Uh, what is wrong wrong with that? If a woman wants to be dominated in bed that's her choice. Feminism is about equality, acceptance, and the ability to make your own choices (male/female, gay/straight). I like sexually dominate men myself, and I choose to be with these type of men. I could be with dudes who are subs, but I'm not into that. Again this is called sex positive feminism, which I already discussed.

i think you said the word. whatever the mainstream paints as feminism that's what a lot of people hate. the rape culture patriarchy hate stuff. I have no idea if that is real feminism but whoever that those groups that keep screaming at men "rape culture!!!" that's who we dislike.

if the real principles of feminism are about empowering women and also educating them on the responsiility that comes with the new options and then they are free to choose, then i can agree with that. if it's about equality everywhere i might have some issues with certain things but a discussion can take place. I just think too many people want to pick and choose when to be a feminist, and when to be a "helpless lady". but overall yeah, more options for women, that's cool.

There is a lot of bad press about feminism from the mainstream and from the right wing. I'd say 40% of it is the fault of feminists themselves because of the radical ones that are out there shouting "BODY POLICING! RAPE CULTURE!' Every minute. You wouldn't believe how many feminists on tumblr have basically implied I am not "feminist enough." :shaq2: Which is why I stopped taking part in the tumblr feminist community.

Rape culture does exist. But I think that a lot of mens' issues with this idea, I get just from reading this thread anyway, is that they feel attacked. Rape culture wasn't really created by men. I mean maybe it was back in the day, which is over a thousand years ago. But now it's created by both women and men. It's not a myth.... But some feminists get really into their political beliefs and go overboard, attacking all men.

Which I don't get because men are our allies. We fight for gay rights, right? That is a feminist cause. You can't say gay men are okay and straight men don't deserve these rights. Which I've read on the web from some feminists doing. A lot of white female feminists will also say that gay men or men of color are okay, just not white men. :mindblown:

If you want to have an intelligent discussion about rape culture with a sane feminist, I'm here haha. But the world will not change from feminism unless women are willing to also put out the effort and change their own thoughts and ideas, so that is why those things still exist.

My feminism is about equality as much as possible, but I also recognize in certain areas men are not equal to women and vice versa, so changes must be made to accommodate that. Like the chicks fighting on the front line thing, if woman want that right, sure. But I can't ever imagine wanting the right to essentially have a better chance to be killed. But hey that's feminism.

I don't necessarely think this equality thing is a good idea (for neither) but as long as we're talking about true equality, at least it becomes an honest convo.

it goes beyond genders though. I don't think all people were created equal. At the core we are opportunistic animals. "all people are created equal", etc, as far as i'm concerned that's simply not true. Some people are stronger, smarter, wiser, more talented, or develop in better environement. I think capitalists is what we are at the core. Equality and "fairness" are concepts we strive to reach but there's no such thing as fairness and "deserve". I think the best for a society is for everyone to have a basic level of opportunity guaranteed. but equal opportunity for everyone is impossible in my opinion. because we're not all created equal.

kinda got off subject but it's semi related and i felt like posting this for some reason, lol

Men and women are not equal in a lot of ways and that is why feminism is trying to correct that. I mean, I doubt a dude could suffer through childbirth. I just can't imagine a dude going through that sort of pain. But feminism seeks to correct what men can't do and what women can't do and make us as equal as possible.

what confuses people is that you have the idea and the principles themselves of what feminism should be, and then you have the people who claim feminism. who really should decide what a movement stands for?

it's kinda like Christianity. You have the people who claim Christianity today and throughout history, some are good and some have done evil stuff. then you have the core principles and teachings of Jesus Christ which are in theory a beautiful thing. So is Christianity a good or a bad thing? is Christianity the idea or is it whatever people have made it throughout time? same could be said with any group or movement. Who really decides and defines the movement? who decided that feminism is XYZ? Who gets to decide the definition?

lol, what does that even mean though? Sure i probably couldn't live through the pain of a baby coming out of my penis. But if men had a vagina (which is an impossible scenario) what makes you think we couldn't suffer through the pain of childbirth?
