just based on what I just read in that article, I think there are two issues here, that are being conflated. There is no functional difference between the two, Pence isn't magically more liked or more accomplished within the party structure to stop the infighting and get shyt done at a policy level instead of just undoing all the shyt Obama did and winning some court cases at the state level because they pack the state SC's.
Pence and Trump have a symbiotic relationship, just like Cheney and Bush (people who think Cheney was the real evil behind the throne dismiss too much of Bush's culpability and complicity in the actions he undertook personally). President Pence would be functionally no different than President Trump, in fact if Trump was impeached or Pence came to power somehow it would be because the Trump administration has lost all legitimacy in the public eye, and lost control of the government. Thus rendering them powerless to begin with.
Oh and by the way, yeah even without Pence in power this is happening so:
Religious Extremists Got Their Justice. Now They're Going To Strip LGBTQ Rights. | HuffPost
And before you TLR mouthbreathers start screaming about "It's just a bunch of nancy batty bois, who cares they should all be murdered anyway" (and y'all disgusting monsters who lack empathy btw), a reversal of a precedent on civil rights for an established minority group on legal grounds? Even the coli's resident faux militants should be able to read the writing on the wall and predict what happens next.![]()
First, LGBT rights. I don't think anyone should have the right to discriminate or to take ANYTHING away from anyone, based on their sexual preference, race, etc. I am completely against any religion, and think that all that shyt needs to stay away from law in any way. No one should be denied any essential service based on any form of discrimination.
Secondly, business rights. I don't think anyone should be forced to see or provide any service to anyway if they don't feel like it. let the public figure that out. If someone doesn't want to sell a cake to a gay person, then I hope everyone that doesn't' agree with it never supports them, and hopefully their business with fail. And hopefully someone else steps up with a business that will fill in that void where there is opportunity for business to be had.
