asante used to a have a pick but let his matchup get 8 catches for 152 yards 2 TD's and think he had a good game.

This.

As an Eagle fan, my lasting memory of Asante is the way he and the whole Philly secondary got punished by Larry Fitzgerald in the 09 NFC Championship. It was like watching a grown uncle play football with his little nephews on Thanksgiving.

EDIT: Looked it up. Fitz had 9 catches, 152 yards, 3 TDs that game. Almost spot on to what you said

Aeneas :wow:
Love that guy no homo
Great player and great role model
He was the only standout on those shyt Cardinal teams.
Man, what the he’ll y’all be on LOL

Jerry Rice himself said Darrel Green & Deion were his two toughest matchups: https://cbssportsradio.radio.com/articles/jerry-rice-i-hated-playing-against-deion-sanders

Cris Carter said the same thing...
I saw Darrel get beat a lot over his career. I thought both Eric and Aneas were better cover corners

From Sherm saying Revis isn’t a top 5 CB to this nonsense from Samuel, DBs are easily the most catty nikkas on the field lmaoo

This is why people should just dismiss it after Dungy responded. DBs having the shortest memory isn't just a saying. Them dudes will get burnt one play and the next play will be talking wild shyt about how you can't get shyt on them. This is pure insecurity. I think he might be at home mad he's not in the HOF and Darrell Green is.

Asante just bored or something. Green aint no top to 5 cornerback ever but the man was good to great for years on end and he deserves the respect he is given. Most corners are done at or before 30 but he kept on playing and wasn't a liability out there most of the time either.

Not trying to be disrespectful, but it doesn’t matter what you saw, if the greatest wideouts to ever play this game all say Deion and Darrells name, unsolicited. Irvin, Carter and Rice are all on YouTube over many years saying DG was one of the top 2 best...

The other guys do not get mentioned by those most qualified to speak, even though Aneas is underrated by modern fans - he ain’t DG.

Wasn't Darrel like 5'8 or something? I'm older like yourself and I remember most those DB's back then were nowhere near 6 feet tall. I remember a breh in SF that got drafted early 2000's and he was considered a giant at 6'1. He was a cornerback.

I'm a big Redskins fan so I'm a bit biased but Darrell for his size was a pretty complete corner, good tackler, and decent cover, he did get burned quite a bit during the later ends of his career. He was extremely physical though. I do think Arenas was better in coverage though but he played for the Cardinals which no one cared about back then.

I think any bigger cornerback then was praised just based off the fact they were bigger than 5'8-9.
