Not gonna lie when I first heard the tape this was the one that stuck out still bump this tape whenever I'm in the mood.

Live Love ASAP is a undeniable classic. One of the few essentials of the post 808's era.
It's a tragic, tho, Rocky's ego is destroying him.
Yam$ and Purrp gave gave him that "trill Wave" swag. Before that, Rocky was on some pretentious "artsy" shyt.
Think late Andre 3k/kid Cudi but with the high fashion obsession of Fonzworth Bently....
Anyways, Yam$ crafted the street image to balance rocky's avant garde tendencies.
Withouth it, Rocky's "pretty" boy swag would have been seen to be as fruity as his predescesors.
In my oppinion, That's the genius of Yam$ and why Live Love A.$.A.P is such an achievement.
It was every bit as out of the box as Lil B or the love below without sacrificing the masculinity of hardcore hiphop.
After Blowing up, Rocky got gassed by his own success (naturally)
He also built up a lot of resentment for his image.
This was partly because the majority of the credit for his success was going to Clams and Yams.
Still, the biggest factor was the explosion of trill wave on tumblr. Being "Trill" was consumed by hype beasts rocking all black and holding Styrofoam cups.
Naturally, Rocky started distancing himself from the clams Casino sound.
He started changing his image to be truer to himself. Wanting the world to see the real A$AP. (subtly going as far as shedding a Yam$ mask on his album cover)
He demanded greater creative input in the production and the construction of his music
The result were his last two albums. Albums that were
At best.
Nonetheless, the magic of LiVE LOVE ASAP remains; It is truly an innovative album.
Lightning in a bottle, that couldn't have happened without Clams Casino, A$AP Yam$, A$AP Ty Beats, SpaceghostPurrp, and of course A$AP Rocky.

This is exactly why I love this mixtape. I love people being eclectic and taking chances as long as they keep it hardcore.
I had no idea Yams was so involved in Rocky's success until dude passed.
Also, the fukk happened to Beautiful Lou? His beats "Trilla" and "Kissin Pink" were the hottest shyts next to Clams. I was disappointed as hell when he didn't show up on Rocky's debut.

My favorite beats on that tape are Trilla, Leaf and Peso. If he stuck to that sound I could fukk with him more. But he deviated too much.

Is it just me or did that whole cloud rap scene kind of fall by the wayside? Maybe I'm just not checking enough.
hard to say. Cloud rap was always obscure/borderline nonexistent. Something can't fall off if it was never on.
I think people took aspects of cloud rap that worked for them and incorporated it into their music. Especially RnB. Bryson Tiller might as well be Chris Brown/Drake over ASAP Rocky cloud beats. "Dont" has strong Clams vibes (the vocal "dont" itself is textbook Clams).
