Asians over at reddit are complainging about Affirmative acction

Someone said awhile back that Asian parents helicopter rear their children, why is that a bad thing if it works? They don't need AA to get into these schools, we do.

nobody is saying tiger parenting is bad breh but the Asians only want one way to get in the door and want to close off all other entrances too and claim its because "they arent as smart/talented as we are so they dont deserve it".

When in reality those fakkits are just following a checklist that works in their favor anyway.

Ignore targeted systemic oppression that has continually set AA's back, redlining that stuck black people in the poorest parts of the country, and targeted drug distribution that decimated the black community for for decades to make a bad point brehs

White women by far benefit from affirmative action the most and have since the beginning but yet no one ever complains about them. We had multiple white kids literally get caught cheating their way into colleges they didn't belong at last year to the point their parents went to prison yet people pass over that to talk about AA for black people.

At the end of the day black people got to compete, it's our responsibility to be compete in a global marketplace, the world doesn't owe you understanding or anything really. African immigrants don't come here with that mentality.

A lot of African immigrants that go to these top schools, usually already came from good homes. Both parents in the household and one of the parents likely had a professional position back home (doctor, engineer etc.). You can't compare African immigrants to African Americans who have been barred from succeeding in America . I say this as an African.

It’s one of the biggest local issues in CA. Asians have spent the last decade building political strength in CA fighting AZ. They won awhile ago, but now this prop can overturn all their “progress.”

So say magically prop 16 passes, you of course would exclude yourself from receiving any benifits from any newly established programs, being that you're a recent African immigrant and affirmative action isn't for you. Right?

I'm already going to a top public school in California. This doesn't affect me at all. I just hate being surrounded by Asians nonstop and not seeing anyone that looks like me. I also currently have an intership lined up at a defense contractor company this summer. My shyt rarely gets over looked because I'm a vet who did IT work while I was in the Navy. There's a good chance that I will end up working for the company I'm interning for since they are a defense contractor (they usually hire their interns as well).
I like how you assumed that I'm an opportunist.
I also don't like where this country is heading. I'm the only black person in my neighborhood and the one time I do see a black person they are either homeless or tweaking of drugs mostly because they had no opportunities in life. It's demorolizing and if shyt keeps going the way they've been going black people might become a permanent underclass in California. If you were from Cali you would know what I'm talking about.

Im literally you except in Washington state and doing my time in the Air Force side of IT. I feel you man its disgusting to see the wealth in the West Coast and black folks largely not participating in it

I am from California. I was in high school there when prop 209 passed. Again I don't understand why you keep bringing prop 16 up, it's not going to pass, there was no way it would pass, due to the demographics of the voters of California. If you were ACTUALLY from California, and not a transplant, you would know this Black people are already a permanent underclass in California, live your life.
