What made you want to read the Bible out of the blue?

Are you reading Genesis to Revelation?

Ive never heard an atheist read the Bible with the intent of enlightenment. it’s usually to find things that are inaccurate

Why? Cuz if you were raised to be a holy roller, becoming an atheist doesn't take much work, I'm an atheist who doesn't have his head up his ass

It's easy to fall into the trap of bigging up other religions you weren't raised in after cherrypicking for negatives in the one you were

The Bible is a human book, of course It'll be full of inaccuracies

I'm not going in any particular order, the Gospels, Psalms, Job, and Ecclesiasties are my go to books atm

Paul knew who Christ was and most likely saw him preach but he, for better or worse, organized the church post-JC and wrote all those rules in the epistles to various churches; all that don't do this, don't do that come from him, he replaced mosaic law with his own

I feel the opposite, humans are animals who know how to wipe their ass and think abstractly

I've tried to see the world in a more esoteric light, but naw, far as I'm concerned, what you see is what you get and the product of human creativity
