Two blocks east, make a left at the light

You right, but I find what he allegedly said, his parables and all that more personally fulfilling than what a lot of other religious figures.

I'm not gonna go overboard and pray to the man, that stuff ain't real, but the red letters ring less hollow than the hadiths and tipitakas for ne

Matthew 6:6-13

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

I honestly want to know what's confusing about:

1. I am an atheist. I do not believe in an omnipotent god/s or anything religious in the Bible.

2. I consider Jesus of Nazareth a wise man who taught love and peace.

3. I don't worship him.

Why go to church every Sunday? That’s a form of worship.

A Christian Atheist.... :mindblown:

But there is something to be said about reading the Bible and appreciating the stories, allegories, and parables in it. You don't have to be religious for that.

As I get older my view on who Jesus was and who He was to his people back then has changed quite a bit.

A Christian atheist is what’s expected of a gender fluid gen z folk.

I treat it like a book club, plus a lot of the congregation is older, they have good connects and even better advise

Yeah, y'all are weird with this, I show nothing but respect for Jesus himself, yet I'm lumped in with alphabet people

Matthew 6:6-13
I never said I followed EVERY thing he said

Plus I'm a sinner, it's pretty fun, y'know how Lawrence of Arabia enjoyed being beat up by arab men? I enjoy getting roughed up by Black women, temptations alright as long as you use protection:ehh:

i think its in context. You said you like being roughed up by black women :mjpls:

Zipporah (bird) was a Midianite woman, one of the daughters of Jethro
It'd be more :mjpls: if it was a pawg

But I see what you mean, I ain't hung up on the ethnic jew religion Christians unfortunately got saddled with though

Martin Luther was right about them :manny:

really watch the video

remember...you like to think "esoterically"

Ramesses name means "Creative speech fashioned him"

In the "egyptian context" Pharaoh is imitating the hidden, while his wife is like death.

For your purposes, imagine this Moses

Darkness was on the face of the deep, and the spirit of God moved over the face of the waters...

I enjoy getting roughed up by Black women

I actually don't, I'm more than fine with surface level knowledge :hubie:

You've piqued my interest though, I'll watch but y'know what I always say, you can find wisdom on the back of candy bar wrapper if you look hard enough

I do not believe in any deity but I've been reading the bible in a personal context and Jesus by himself was a good man

Called out his own people, hung out with whores and said some good shyt :ehh:

Paul was a dikk riding wannabe weed carrier who still acted like a Pharisee, imagine a bunch of Clarence Thomas ass nikkas leading a bunch of grifters to dictate your life, that's who the Pharisees were to the Israelites
I feel the same way. I think Jesus was real, but i don't think he had super powers.
The stories in the bible aren't meant to be taken literally as historical record,
alot of religous behaviours from all sorts of religions have logical reasoning behind if you look at the context.

like why would somebody be told not eat pork, because some deity thinks its wrong? or maybe because some community leader saw a bunch of people getting sick back in the day, due to pigs being fed all manner of disgusting shyt and spreading diseases as a result?

a great deal of both the old testament and the gospels cannot be approached with modern logic

otherwise you'll just fill in the gaps by discrediting the writers intentions based on your own guesses.

I feel the opposite, humans are animals who know how to wipe their ass and think abstractly

I've tried to see the world in a more esoteric light, but naw, far as I'm concerned, what you see is what you get and the product of human creativity

idk about this breh…we know there are sound waves humans can’t perceive and spectrums of light humans can’t perceive, so can reality really be based on our limited perception?…
