You should consider getting into an Air BnB. they cost as little as $10 a night and you would have a proper bed to lay in as well enjoy some company with travelers from all over the world. I've met people while hopping around airbnb's who are in the exact same situation as you and it seems like a great option :manny:
Never thought about that. If we get a lot of rain from this tropical depression i might need to look into that

How difficult has it been to live in your car in general?

And what would be your advice as far as how to prepare?

I'm asking because I've got a cousin who I think should consider moving away from where he is right now - he's on a path to nowhere in life, and none of the people in his life are really positive or looking out for his best interests.

From what you've written, it doesn't sound like it's been too much trouble - nobody bothers you, you generally feel safe, you're able to maintain personal hygiene, feed yourself, and hold down a good job.

I'd consider staking him with some money for a used SUV and selling him on a move elsewhere (while living in it) as an opportunity to save a good amount of money, have an adventure, see more of the country, and get away from a bad environment. I'm also thinking it would also be an opportunity for him to do some introspection and figure out what he'd actually like to do with his life...that's a tough question to answer honestly when you're surrounded by negativity and low achievers.
Anyways, any input you have would be appreciated, breh. I'm fukking impressed with what you're pulling off. :salute::myman:

Good thread OP! For anyone interested: r/vandwellers is a good source of information. You got 6 cert cacs freely adopting this lifestyle, traveling the country while working remotely, stacking bundles of cash and enjoying it. If you have nothing to lose and something to work towards this can be very rewarding.

Basically treat this like a backpacking situation. Look for local hostels. They can be dirt cheap. You already hacked the Planet Fitness trick. Camp ground rest stops provide pretty safe places you can park and sleep overnight.

I think someone also mentioned trucker reststops?

You got any talents? Went backpacking overseas and would set up on a corner and sing. Cleared close to $85 a day. (Surprised by how many Thai people like Beyoncé music...)

A lot of Churches have really good free food.

If you have a phone and a computer, maximize ur hustles. Teach a class online. They pay between $16-$30 for native speakers to teach kids in foreign countries how to speak English. You could do it at the library during the day and bring in some extra money.

Also look for caregiver gigs. A lot of people will let you stay for free if you take care of older parents who want to stay in their homes instead of moving to an old folk home. Put out some offers for house sitting and live-in property managers too.

Also look into live-in storage managers. They require a high school diploma will pay you a salary and give you an apartment to live in b/c they want u on site to look after storage units.

Be safe, visit all the free shyt like beaches, museums, libraries and wish u luck!

This still doesn’t make sense, so you delay getting some stuff for your place then, but if you have money to get a room then do so

How much is a good RV btw?
Getting you a good cargo van with a ladder rack on top. This provides stealth and will allow you to park almost any where in the city without being bothered. Search vandwellers on YouTube and Reddit. There are a lot of good builds out there. And plenty of black folks are doing it.

So you would rather pay for a hotel youre only going to sleep in for a month which would probably be over 1k than to save it to keep from sleeping on the floor when you do get moved in? Cheap shytty hotels are $50 a night. You would be ok spending $50 a night for over 30 days?

It seems backwards to me. I would rather be living comfortable when i get to my end point. 1500 in my pocket to live on seems more logical to me in my situation

Its really surprising how many people are out here on purpose and dont plan on finding homes any time soon
