Would you ever do staged photography or photographic art of the like?
What do you think about skateboarding photography and photographers? I personally consider them amongst the best photographers in the world.
Who are you influences? Any particular photographers or artists?
skateboarding is cool, i quit in the 10th grade tho so I havent really been around it enough to dabble into it. Its not just skateboarding though, its the actual culture. Skateboarding and street wear share are inextricably linked though and the steetwear scene is how i got into photography. I started posting on hypebeast in the photo section. It influenced my style.
my fav photographers are annie liebovits, richard avedon, and cartier bresson. I have many more influences but those are the mains.
I think you should breh.
That's how Spike Jonze did it...he started out shooting for Transworld Skateboarding in the early 90s, then moved on to directing music videos, and now he directs feature films so I think it's pretty dope how he managed to parlay that into a bigger and better spot in the creative world.
yeah exactly, i finally got the chance to enter other creative fields but I want to do it with the same level of professionalism as i do in photography. It means starting slow and learning as much as i can.
Can I pm you my instagram and you give me some critiques?
And for shoots how much of it is your vision? Or is it a writer, producer, agent, or whoever who calls the shots and you just take the pic and edit it?
For the most part its mainly me, people come to me cause they like my aesthetic. However sometimes the stylists, creative directors, or artists deserve all the credit. Its about finding that balance and bringing everyone creative energy together to produce something great. I usually get the final say but ive had people re edit my photos or not agree with the vision but thats part of the game, it happens to the best of us.
I want to buy a camera and start getting crispy shots. I have about $700 to spend, what camera and lenses do I need to start out looking good? I got a creative eye
Do you plan on doing a book or something? What Hip Hop CD covers stand out as great photography
any entry level canon and nikon and a 35mm prime.
jonathan mannion has shot some pretty amazing hip hop covers, a lot of jay z and outcast. He assisted for richard avedon, the goat and you can tell it in his work.

yeah that cam is fine, just cop a 35mm prime and you are good money.
@spinoza
What can you suggest to a photographer who just started?
What can someone do to really separate themselves from other professional photographers?
How many pictures did you take a day before you went professional?
Do you like the photographs you took when you first started looking back?
the caption in this post pretty much answers your questions.
and i always look at my old stuff and think about what i would have done differently, its what makes the new shyt better.
