I dont think many white people feel truly guilty. Its more of a frustration cause they really want that blank slate. Its hard for white people to accept that theirs a socioeconomic reality that cant be overlooked... Even if everyone in this country has equal rights.
In Canada the white guilt over what was done to First Nations people is real, but it can be a little offensive. Saying sorry and feeling about something doesn't mean it didn't happen.
